so i was looking through the series info, and i found that, on every page, there's at least 1 manga listed under Yaoi, often times 4-5 in the first 10 pages or so o.o

what % of mangas in total does the Yaoi genre take up anyways lol. Im not interested in this genre, but evidently, according to some other stats here and there on mangaupdates, there are quite a few people who are.

any comments?

On the genres page it says that some 1566 or so series are Yaoi. There are only around 6000? or so series in the database, so that's roughly 1 in every 5, and that's only for the series that have their genre specified... That's a lot of Yaoi.

Well that's a lot, but aren't most of the Yaoi stuff oneshots or doujin? That makes it a pretty short work compared to the series with 30+ volumes. If you really want to make a good comparison you would probably need to see how many releases of each genre, (Assuming that each release is one chapter), and we can get a better estimate...

You want to know why there's a lot of yaoi? Because people are becoming more attracted to Yaoi than the other genres. Which implies that the population of people who prefer same sex relationship increased dramatically. How do we stop this epidemic before it's too late. This filter was really necessary. Thanks to Manick, now I can browse the latest releases without having to bump into a Yaoi series every 30 seconds.

yeah the filter HELPS A LOT. every manga i clicked on new releases were usually yaoi. i had to remember which groups that released yaoi so i wouldnt have to look it up myself.

i think yaoi is purely a waste of ink, but so is hentai,

isnt manga more focused onto guys? or girls? i always thought manga was into males and that hentai/ecchi would be more popular. but yaoi is more than the two genres combined.
