New Poll - Looking Your Age

This week's poll comes from the mind of KaoriNite. Sometimes characters look (and/or act) older or younger than they actually are. Like a small kid having the wisdom of a grandpa. What's your opinion on that? And for once, I have a "Don't care" option.
You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Assuming you didn't read the prequel, would you read its sequel?
Choices:
Read prequel first, then I'd decide about the sequel - votes: 9523 (76%)
Read the sequel first - votes: 408 (3.3%)
I'd read both eventually, but order doesn't matter - votes: 2430 (19.4%)
I dislike sequels - votes: 169 (1.3%)
There were 12530 total votes.
The poll ended: July 14th 2012
Go in order!

I wish it was 2 polls, how one looks and how one acts. I don't have a problem with characters not acting their age too much. However, it annoys me to no end when all characters are not drawn age appropriately. Like when you have everyone look like they are in high school even the adults. Or like how everyone has the same face but different hair and the old guys have mustaches which is supposed to make them look old even though they have young faces.

Pet peeve, definitely! 17-year-old boys who look like they're in their 30's; older women who are lolis. If it were just once or twice, it would be OK, but you see it everywhere 🤢
Yeah, it annoys me.
Sometimes, I understand that it's part of the joke. Like in Medaka Box, where Zenkichi's mum looks like a child. That kinda stuff I don't mind.
Most of the time though, it does annoy me. I tend to forget their age nowadays anyway. Unless stated in some way, I can't figure it out XD

i agree with you, cuz in real life we dont always act according to our age either so that's no problem but looks on the other hand - no, one should look his/her age 😮

Didn't we had a thread about this?
i'm gonna quote the answer i give there
What happen to the "i could't care less" option?
Jk. All the cases annoy me. 14 looking 25, 50 looking 18, 500 looking 10, it all suck...
But i try not to pay attention to it.
funny fact, there is a "Don't care" option here.

I'm on the fence, it's ok if it's just a few characters, sometimes people just don't look their age, but if all the high schoolers look like they're in preschool then yeah, it's a problem. I myself look a lot younger then I actually am, by more then 5 years (I managed to get the child's price on movie tickets when I was 18) Despite being the ripe old age of 25 I'm still frequently mistaken for a high schooler.

Yay I was finally chosen! Cool. Even though I did kinda already make a thread about this.
Anyways, I just really hate when characters don't look their age in romances. I don't want to see an adult guy falling for an adult girl who looks like a kid because then I'm thinking the guy is a secret pedophile. And I don't like the reverse either, when a character falls for someone who looks like an adult but is really an elementary school kid.

I dislike it when 12year olds are looking the same as adults.
Also I dislike the ages (too young) given to characters often. But if the age is not important, in most cases it doesn't matter, I will just mentally correct it.

Don't care. The reason why might be that I seemingly don't look my age either. It really depends on the story and how the art works. Sometimes the "they don't look their age" can work for the better of the manga, sometimes it doesn't.
The age thing doesn't really matter. I couldn't care less if a 50 year old looks like 12 year old or 16 year olds looking like 23. But what annoys me the most are middle schoolers who have massive 20lbs breasts. Those are cringe worthy.

I am tired of the the 8 years old lolis suposed to be 18+.
Jusr give the characters an appropriate appearance for their age, or an appropriate age for their appearance. Don't just draw a loli for the lolicons and try to play it off by saying it's a mature character.

the only time i get upset about it is when it's a yaoi and the seme looks like a kid (or is ultra-bishie) while the uke is an ultra-butch macho-man 10 to 30 years older. otherwise i don't care, no matter the genre.

I don't really care, except when it is overdeveloped elementary or middle school children, or teenage loli-like characters (or even older) who are over sexualized.
