What lies have your parents told you as a child?

... Mum told me that the tooth fairy existed starting when I was 5 and every year kept encouraging me to believe that tooth fairies existed. Lol, but I had known, back then when I was 7, that they didn't exist but still i pretended to, to get the presents from the 'tooth fairy'.
I don't get the presents anymore (hey, I'm 'only' 12, so i'm not too old to believe in the tooth fairy!!!) because finally, this year when my tooth fell out I told my mum that I knew that the tooth fairy didn't exist.
Oh, and that if I pet dogs/cats-any animals in general AND 'dirty' things, my hands would blacken and fall off and I would catch some terrible skin disease. I know it isn't true, but I'm still scared to touching animals and stuff, stupid parents, made me a hygiene freak...

god. man in the moon. If i eat the seed of a fruit, a tree will grow in my stomach and out of my moth (i tried to get an apple tree^^") every good thing yoú do will be repaid -.- If you don´t pray before going to bed you´ll get a nightmare.

The usual tooth fairy and Santa Claus deal.
But I figured that Santa wasn't real when I was 6 and my brother was the only one to get a present from Santa (they have a tendency to forget about me). It was devastating...not getting an extra present, that is.
My mom also told me that if you go the whole day without realizing your shirt/clothes are inside out it's good luck or something.
And that when you get a pimple it means someone likes you...

that if we didnt behave they would divorce... oh no wait that aint a lie... they did get a divorce... ten years later^^
that bad monsters would come and eat me if i didnt listen

My mom told me my forehead would turn blue if I'd lie.
Most children cover their foreheads next time they lie (I've witnessed it XD)
I looked in the mirror instead 😀
(and I was disappointed by not becoming blue)

I remember my dad told me that he was going to "gently" pull out my loose teeth... and he would end up always yanking 'em or pressing 'em really forcefully. It worked... but yeah it just made me reeeaaally scared. 😢
And when I was little, my mom told me I would get raped if I hung out with friends that weren't "approved" by her. 😐

I didn´t, but my cousin. She got an appendicitis and needed a surgery. Never try this at home.

Why they were separating and no longer together.

Technically how everything works in this world.
Since as a child, i wouldnt be able to understand the truth anyways. So it would be a lie if i say my parents never told me a lie as a child. 🤣
