What lies have your parents told you as a child?

yeah when I was 5, I asked why did I born, how mom got pregnant, and they told me that a fairy brought me to them, and stupid me, I believe that I was a blessing girl of fairy for the next 7 years!!!!!!
I'm an innocent lil girl until I was in 6th grade where I learned that biological relation between man and woman that made me born....... *Sigh.....
well, if hiding a truth by remain silent is considered as a lie, then they lied to me. they hid the fact that I'm an adopted child, they never spoiled it, I found it myself.

And the whole "Sinterklaas" ( some European version of Santa Claus) thing.

when i was in kinder they said elementary wud be wonderful
in elementary they said middleschool will be fantastic
in middle they said highschool is youth and joy at prime
highschool they said , u can enjoy once u get into top college
i get into no 7 engineering college in country , they say study well and get a job,,then u will be happy
i know i will be through hell again.........though i enjoy reading and studying and in last year college and i am fed up...and all philosophical right now

I know in western, parents usually lie bout the stork that brings babies.
thats why I proud of my parents who have a higher imagination. haha.
a lil girl would be happier told that she was given by a fairy instead of stork 🤣

When I was in 4th grade(8 years old) I received a love letter from the cutest girl in my class buuuut My mom saw it first and tought I was too young for these things,hid the letter and told me it was a letter from my grandpa wishing my best and stuff. 3 years later while searching for an old radio I found the letter in my mom wares, I was VERY MAD wtf? They delayed my first kiss for God knows how many years! What if I never get a girlfriend? And hell, she was the cutest!!
(I had my first kiss some months after and forgot about this till I read this topic name..thanks Dr. Love)
I guess the worst part about these lies is that when you are a kid you go on telling to everyone these things and think they actually believe it
