Madara did, at the very least, kill Kushina. Although it didn't occur immediately, as soon as the Ninetails was extracted she was as good as dead because when Jinchuuriki lose their beast they die. Minato's death is more debatable. Kushina could have sealed the Ninetails within herself with the last of her power, and as she died she would have been a temporary vessel as a new Jinchuuriki was found.

Minato seemed to reason that Naruto had to be the new Jinchuuriki as he was the only one capable of defeating Madara. Things get kind of confusing here though. It seems the only way to do this was to sacrifice himself as this would create a seal that would seal half of the Ninetails chakra within himself (? or perhaps just eliminate half of the Ninetails chakra?) and the other half within Naruto (Minato says that a "Non-Jinchuuriki" cannot handle the full chakra of the Ninetails) This must imply that very few people have the ability to house the Ninetails in full, hence the reason Kushina was kidnapped earlier on as she was a rare person able to do it.

So if it is true that only Naruto could defeat Madara then it was indeed necessary for Minato to sacrifice himself, and thus yes Madara did kill both of Naruto's parents.

I think its not that naruto is not "non-jinchuuriki", he is and he has special chakra (inherited from Kushina) and could handle the full force of nine-tails, its just that Minato didn't want to take the risk of Madara gaining access for full nine-tail force from Naruto plus He, himself, couldn't handle it. Minato only had power to seal half of nine-tail chakra permanantly with his special seal along with his soul even by sacrificing his life. What Minato did is he divided nine-tails power in half permanently. Even if MAdara does get better of Naruto, what he will get will be only half of nine-tail force, the other half is gone for good.

Hmm... Perhaps Minato had sealed half of the Ninetails chakra within himself so that as Naruto grew up, Madara would only have been able to take half of the Ninetails chakra (as you mentioned). This makes some sense as it could explain why Madara hasn't attempted to kidnap Naruto when he was young (however it was also kept top secret who the new Jinchuuriki was, that could be another explanation)

In the Battle with Pain, when Minato showed up he remade Naruto's seal. Maybe he released the other half of the Ninetails chakra and sealed it within Naruto as he is now better able to handle it. I have no hard evidence of this theory, but it sounds good 😁

I'm sure I should have known this beforehand, but until this chapter I had no idea only half of the nine-tails' power was sealed in Naruto. How interesting. But poor Kushina and Minato, I feel bad for them >_>

Yeah. I'm going to miss this flashback. It'd be nice is Kishi does a Minato/Kushina Gaiden arc like he did with Kakashi. I'd love to see more of them.

Well, He did learn rasengan in only half the time. and he's still only half Minato's age. But yeah,It'll be awhile longer before he really does surpass him.

question if thoses wiskers on naruto's face didn't come from the nine tails, (he was born with them). then how the hell did he get them? did someone draw them on with perminant ninja ink or something?

As far as Naruto learning Rasengan in "half the time" - it could help the fact that he was being taught, and not actually creating the skill. Same with the wind version, he already was handed the base form of it, and then he had thousands of himself all working on it at the same time. Considering that, he actually took many years and decades to learn that ability, of which he actually only had to inject his chakra type into an attack he was shown.
As for sage mode, same thing. I am thinking that most people who the frogs decided to teach, (still don't know why only they seem to have Sage mode and the other summon monsters don't have their own fighting styles they can teach), could learn it if they had enough will power.

Naruto hasn't surpassed anyone, he was given a cheat, and shown everything else. Anyone who knows the secret Kage Bushin (super secret technique in a forbidden scroll that almost every ninja in all the villages seems to have access to), and infinite amounts of energy, could probably do the same thing but better. Imagine if Sasuke had his chakra? He would probably have ruled the Earth the first day after he found the Fox inside him.

yes but sasuke has his own cheat move, the sharingan which basically tells him how to do something properly plus crazy power ups as the so called sharingan's level increases. Plus naruto didn't use the kage bunshin when he learned the rasengan in fact he didn't even know about the whole "more clones more time trained thing" then, so in reality he did learn the move in a month.

and dude you make it sound like sasuke made every move he has by himself, much of it he learned from orichimaru and kekkashi, but he took that information and added his own touch to them. Naruto does this alot to sure he lacks the finesse that sasuke has but hey his solution are simple and well developed, and so what he only has like three moves but hey

the one thing i agree with you on is that naruto has yet to surpass the the fourth but he's still pretty young
