Leah~ :/ I hate it. NO ONE pronounces it correctly. No. One. I am Lee-uh, not Lee. Two syllables.
You mean they can't guess by the way it's spelled? I thought it obvious.
You'd think, right? I always assumed that the fact there's that 'ah' at the end would make people realize I'm not Lee and that there is indeed another syllable.

Anyone who knows a Leah, however it's pronounced, will say it correctly. Otherwise, they'll just screw it all over. But it's not a very common name.
Maybe because of Star Wars, more people will go for Lay-ah instead of Lee-ah.

But, the thing is, in Star Wars, her name is Leia. To me, that's a completely different name. :/
And it's definitely not as common as Britney or Ashley, but it's not extremely uncommon either (at least not in America). I remember numerous years in the 90s when Leah earned a spot on the 100 most popular girls names.

I wen tto the highschool with a girl who's name was Leah and she insisted that it was pronounced Lee. I thought she was wrong to pronounce it that way, but she was a very beautiful goth girl, so I just agreed with her. Also it was her name, who am I to tell her how to pronounce her own name?

Jesus Christ. I didn't mean to start a huge discussion about my name.
🙂 It's funny you should mention someone from school though - that's actually how my mother first came across my name. She had gone to school with a girl named Leah and thought it was lovely.

Leah is a lovely name. But I'm not going to name my daughter that, because you already have this name LOL. Don't wanna name her after "somebody on the internet"

RL = real life, is it?
Well,... I'm not really comfortable in naming my children after my friends. What if we hate each other one day? I'd have to face my children, who were named after them, everyday. I can't do it..

My real name is Vincent the Mexican
I was named after the movie actor Vincent Price. He used to hit on my mom when she worked in the grocery store in North Hollywood.
I don't know how my dad feels about that, but he seems ok with naming me after a guy that used to hit on his wife...... 😕 😔
