And apparently, a lot of people do! I'm not alone!xD

I still mess up my lefts and rights >__<
People should never ask directions from me...
;___; I'm the same, maybe even worst.
The shouldn't ask, or give me directions unless it's a pictured map. XD

Yeah! I have been drinking, so didn't check before hitting the submit button. Some friendly mod can fix that mistake, please.
XD Drunktsu!

My lefts and rights are fine, though when I (for example) practice he piano with my teacher and she says "left left!" I think of the wrong hand cause I'm distracted...=/
I have little idea on the east/west and such.
When I'm asked to do that on a straight piece of paper it's fine...
With my method from grade 5.
I just draw a cross in my mind~
When in the wild (i.e streets) I have no idea which way is south.
Sad, I know.

I actually have to think to figure out among ">" and "<"
I've had enough math lessons to remember that.
Had a period of time when I got confused with that (after actually understanding it).
So I remembered it this way:
The direction it opens the mouth is the bigger...
The one it shows its ass to is the smaller.
😳
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.
Haha left and rights are the enemy of us all. Sometimes I get them mixed up, but it's rare nowadays. Especially since i'm driving. Can't be getting them left and rights wrong when i'm driving. I'll fail the whole exam 🤣
North/South/East/West is fine for me too. Never Eat Shredded Wheat reminds me of that one. I had to know them well for my mechanics exam 🤣
Analog clocks...i have to sometimes count from 13 with my fingers...so I go thriteen and hold up one finger and continue XD I'm learning which ones mean what number though. I'm getting there XD
You know what I get mixed up? Washing machine and Dish washer. Laugh all you want. I always end up saying "put the cup in the washing machine" and my family look at me as if i'm crazy 🤣 I hate myself for always doing it as well. I usually end up shouting back "you know what I mean!" XD

East/West, mostly. On virtual game maps I can never remember if east is on the right or the left. :/
Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?

Staligmites/Staligtites someone told me either one holds on to the roof really tite or with all its mite, can't remember which 🙁
Stalagmites might reach the ceiling some day, while stalactites cling tightly to the ceiling...that's how I was taught to remember it. 😃

I learned that a stalagmite starts at the bottom, as when writing an "M" and a stalactite starts at the top as when writing a "T".

That's what I learned as well!
Also, I never confuse my left and right, the left hand makes a capital "L", should I need to be reminded.
Oh, lunar phases at times,
but I remember then after 2 seconds
anyway.

Not really opposites, but I mix up Tuesday with Thursday and 14 with 4 o'clock, 15 with 5 o'clock, 16 with 6 o'clock and so on.

Here's what helped me remember certain things:
I don't know if 'latitude' and 'lateral' (horizontally) having the same root will help you remember or not, like a 'lateral pass' in (American) football?
I always learned "Tites on Top" (on the ceiling, pointing down) for stalagtites and thus stalagmites are on the ground, pointing up.
In general, an 'effect' is something that can 'affect' (cause to be different) something else. "What effect will he use, and what affect will it have?"
I don't really have a good pneumonic device to remember this, but more often than not, if it's being used as a noun, it's usually 'effect', and if it's being used in the sense of being different than it was previously, it's usually 'affect': "He was affected by the strange effects of the potion."
Concave and Convex: Imagine two lines: | |
If one line sinks in toward another line (or the bottom of the beaker, or whatever), as if it is caving inward and taking up less space, then it is concave: | ( or ) |
Therefore, if it is not caving in toward the other line (or the bottom of the beaker or whatever), but rather it is bulging out, taking up more space, then it is convex: | ) or ( |
Hrm. Maybe the 'cave-in' phrase will only work for English-speakers. I don't know.
For left/right, the only thing I ever heard was holding up both hands with the thumbs out, and only one of the two makes the "L" shape - that's the left hand. (I'm left-handed though, I never had that problem.)
For port vs. starboard, "port" and "left" have the same number of letters. Therefore, port is left and starboard is right.
I can't think of anything of this nature that confuses me, though I admit to not really being able to tell crocodiles vs. alligators apart, though I think the most noticeable thing is their snouts. (Crocodiles have the thinner snouts, IIRC.)
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.
From a bumper sticker I like:
"If you're gonna ride my ass, at least pull my hair."
I still have trouble figuring out left and right without checking which hand I can write with...and I have trouble reading analog clock- but thats another story ~

Um, I'm afraid that's incorrect, actually.
Also, it's mnemonic.

The difference between East and West.
I always have to repeat in my head "Never Eat Soggy Weenies."
Also, the words, Further & Farther, Either & Neither
