I am pretty much againts shounen harems cause the main character is indecisive and acts unrealistic at times.. But in Seinen Harems its entirely a different story due to it mostly portrays the protagonist closer to life.Lets take Haru yo koi as example its main character is weak indecisive and addictive and due to it he loses every love interest and cries for it(in shounen series the love interests never leaves him no matter what >.<).Or White album for example : the main char sees and undestand the feelings of the love interesteds and acts according to it.
while learning from it in the end..etc etc...

I can't really recall a good one that I've read.
The problem is, the guy always seems that he can't appreciate the great situation he's in, and the girls really have no reason to want to be with such a clueless guy... it just seems so unrealistic and frustrating.

I'm sure there's a part of all of us that wants a bunch of cute guys or girls desiring us, but harem manga, for me, isn't a good way to live it out.

second it. I tried to read some harem stuff but it's too stupid. and reverse harem sometimes even more stupid than original one.

Can I"s even be considered as a harem? The largest amount of girls that wanted to get with Ichitaka at any time was 2. And don't you need at least 3 girls simultaneously fighting over the same dude for it to be considered a harem?

Plus the fact that there really wasn't any "competition" at all.

in my opinion, harem manga is broody hard to make well. it's easy to f it up. one has to be very creative or it would fail badly. Love Hine did some really good work with harem. it was somehow standard but it got some interesting things to heat up some love story comedy and ォィコン 🙂

I guess you don't like Tenchi Muyo or Love Hina, then.

harem manga tends to be good to me as long as each character isnt light-headed and he/she truly loves the main character .

Harem can be good, I agree. I can't remember the last time I read a good one, but I'm sure it can be good.

I can't remember if I ever read a good shounen/harem manga (I dont even bother with reverse harems, for obvious reasons)

The basic premise for those stories is all pretty much the same.
You have your loser protagonist, with no redeeming features. A random amount of girls that somehow love the guy, for no apparent reasen.(except maybe that he is nice to them. As if there are no men in the world that treat them like they're human)
The first girl to be introduced is likely to be the main love interest, further strengthening the illusion of love at first sight.
Que the main guy doing something stupid/ecchi situation, gets smacked. que little romance development, que main guy doing something stupid to mess it up, gets smacked again.
rinse and repeat for god knows how many chapters.

Ofcourse I could just be reading the wrong ones, but this is pretty much all i've seen.

I've only read one Harem manga to the end, Love Hina, and it was good, but now I can't find anything I really like. the fact that you always know after about 10seconds which girl the main character is going to end up with annoys me, and it;s always the same character, the innocent good-girl type, though in Love Hina she had a temper, Naru still had that sort of innocent girl thing in every other respect. Show me a Harem where the hero ends up with the mean girl like Mikoto, then you'd have my interest. And how come all these losers who never got girls before are suddenly bombarded with love interests?

Also I liked Midori No Hibi, and Love Collage, but that's just because I love the art and humor, Love collage's romance was to obvious, and so was Midori no Hibi (but I love Sawamura's character. He's not the loser you see in everyother harem.

I's was ok, too, but I don't consider it a harem, since it isn't so much a bunch of girls and one guy so much as a guy who loves a specific girl repeatedly settling for someone else or sacrificing himself for the girl.

Every other harem I've read I haven't made it past 20 chapters before I just get bored.
