Reading some of my piano sheets, trying to memorize them since next week my university life starts and I have to play these songs. And it's easier if you know them by heart so you don't have to keep looking at your sheets and concentrate on the notes. Also it helps if you can hear the music in your head.
You can memorize by reading the music? I have to play several times and eventually without realizing I will have it memorized.
Right now I'm thinking about what I should do next.

Euhm well yeah? That's how I always have done it and how my teachers have thought me at the music conservatory... Like I said when I read the notes I can hear them in my head how they will sound.
Though the first times I play it, it's always with the sheet music close by so I always can glance at it if I forget a part of the piece.

I see...I never learned that way so I was just wondering. That sounds like a much better way of learning it. Well I think I had one teacher that tried to teach my how to hear the notes. Then I moved and I didn't continue those lessons with my new teacher.
Good luck with studying. ^__^

Thx though I'm not in the mood for studying right now 😛
And have you learned to play the piano on your own or taken private lessons with a teacher?

I had lessons from different teachers and after that I was on my own. Actually, I haven't played in a long time. Maybe I should take it up again.

Well you should only play if you like to play it. that's my opinion. So if you want to play it once again then just do it. Though I studied piano in school and now going to follow a piano course at a music university I only do that bcz I love playing the piano.
I hate it when I come across those that are pushed into it by others and are always complaining how difficult it is.
