This week's poll comes from the head of our member BurningFish. In general, how do you like non-manga? (Yes, I realize that you may like/dislike certain series, but let's try to answer this "in general").

You can discuss this poll on our forums here:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=28629

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Opinion on scanlation recruitment pages in releases
Choices:
Like them - votes: 2997 (25.5%)
Ignore them - votes: 3930 (33.4%)
Hate them - votes: 332 (2.8%)
No opinion - votes: 4495 (38.2%)
There were 11754 total votes.
The poll ended: September 3rd 2011

Edit: Forgot to write a comment on the results. It's good to see that a lot of people like them, but yet lots of people ignore them. In my opinion, they're necessary for a scanlation group to get new staff, and they're a good way to let some creativity shine.

To be honest, i really can't find any difference between manhwa and manga though i don't particularly like manhua either. I'm not really fond of OEL unless the art looks very much as manga or manhwa

There should be an option like "some are just as good as manga". I generally don't like the others, because Manhua has bad endings relatively often, while I think Manhwa are shallow relatively often, but some series are really amazing. Now I've seen myself forced to answer with "manga's still the best", since in general there are more manga I like, but I don't ALWAYS like manga better...

I've chosen "Don't think they're any good" because more often than not, don't find myself liking them. I can only count the ones I like in 1 hand! Korean manga are often about violent ones (girl/boy or both). I never really seem to get into Chinese comics and there is only 1 OEL that I really like (Yokaiden).

I've read a lot of really good manwha's like Threads of Time ( http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=3077 ), The Breaker ( http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=27595 ), Blast ( http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=38242 ) and so on....
Most people don't know how great manwha's are because their aren't so many scanned if you compare it with manga, you don't see so many of the mainstream manwha scanned anyway, this is possible the reason why manwha have a lack of popularity.
Manhua and OEL on the other hand, I really don't know any good ones that could be pointed out.
Maybe Dramacon ( http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=13969 ), it got some negative points but I don't know more other OEL that might fall under the "nice read".

Thanks for the links. I do not read a lot of manhwa because, like you said I guess, they are not as popular as manga, but your suggestions look promising. I have added them to my wish list.
