I've noticed that the older i get (just 20), the more shy i become.
For most people shyness is something that is shedded off as the get older.
But for me it seems its been the opposite:
The truth is because when i was younger; i was reckless and irresponsible. But i've become ALOT more responsible and mature when i started college, i guess i just realized that play time was over and i need to start being a little more serious if i want to get some where good in life and with such a focused state of mind, i've shun away from most socializing, especially with women, my face even turns red if too many people are looking at me.

...Anyway my question was just are you, or have you ever been shy?
if possible on a scale of 1-10 how shy would you say you are? (10 being the most shy)

I am shy when meeting new people (6.5)
And when I get to know them I get less and less shy (but that's normal isn't it) I'm now 20

I used to be really shy, at the start of highschool around age of 13 (I don't know anymore) (8+)

I used to be very "out there" and slightly obnoxious but I learned to tone it down a bit which could be interpretted as being shy. I get shy around new people but the more I'm around them the more comfortable I feel. So I guess about 4 fo shyness.

I'm probably a 9.5 out of 10. And yeah, as a kid I was like a 2 or 3 but from 13 onwards it just built up, until I was 16 when it leveled out at maximum shyness. This is only in real life though, on the Internet I'm like a 6 or 7.

I used to be really shy, probably around a 9 in jr. high and high school. In college it got better; though I was never very outgoing I did stop totally freezing up around strangers in social situations - maybe down to a 7? Now I'm 40, and I'd say I'm around a 4-5-6, depending on the situation. I'll never be an extrovert, but I can converse with strangers (though I don't start conversations with them), not freeze up in social situations, etc.

In real life I'm about as shy as they come.

When I'm by myself I'm super shy- I would say a solid 8, it has definitely gotten worst with the years. So I'm usually friends with really outgoing people, since they are the type to start the conversation. When I'm with them I also become outgoing (shyness level= 2). If I'm in a room full of strangers, but have one friend by my side, no one would realize I'm super shy lol

that's a very good attitude, a lot of people i've observed end up in the other direction... and tend to drop out of school with huge loan debts and become alcoholics with nicotine addiction

for me it depends on my mood and the situation i'm in, sometimes i'll start random conversations with cute looking strangers in public transit, other-times i might feel awkward and not want to seem weird, at work i'm witty and outgoing because i have to be, but i've never once been to a job interview where i didn't feel small and nervous 😐 life is a complex bundle of swirling emotions

When I was young I think I was annoyingly talkative but hitting middle school I learned to shut-up and it's pretty much stuck. I guess I hover around 4-8 depending on the situation, we hit 9-10 though If I'm left to my own devices in a situation/convo.

Idk if my response counts, due to the fact I have social anxiety.
But my shyness varied from age to age:
In the primary school years, I was very shy with everyone (8-10).
In the early years at HS (6-7).
At 17-18yrs old it went anywhere from 5-11 (11 being panic attacks).

Now, at 19, I normally sit at around 4-6. All thanks to the nom nom anti-anxiety meds I take. 🤣

uhhh depends...
with girls...im okay.it takes a while to open up but i dont really feel shy
with older women i feel a little shy (like 7 or 6)

with guys...i have a problem
probably because i spent my school years from 4th to 8th grade at an all girls school, then my parents took me back to a mixed school...i just couldnt get used to it
im ok with replying to stuff like "hey you forgot your book" or "can you lend me your notes"
but im terrible with normal conversations...my mind just goes blank and i dont know how to reply
with older men im totally okay i dont feel shy and i find it easier to keep the conversation going

in crowded places i get really paranoid and i feel very uneasy thats why i never go out with my family to crowded malls or parks

i'm probably around 6~8. depends on the person i'm interacting with.

i'm actually better at communicating with older men/women. most of them are nice and very helpful.
btw, most of my problems come from being a stutter. i'm not exactly comfortable talking with other people.

About 7. I get really quiet and looks really really serious, sometime with a scowl on my face when i'm in a group of people. Especially when it's large enough to be uncomfortable but small enough that I still can stick out in the crowd, about 4 to 20 ish people. I only get to know/ click with someone when it's 1 on 1 or in a group of 2.

I guess I'm more social awkward. 🤣

Talking to older people, like really older, it's alright. Mostly I just ask questions about something that's im interested in and etc.

I was more quiet when I was back in middle school, since "no speaking english" is my standard answer. Now, my english is better and most people can understand me. I'm good. 😁

Same thing is happening to me. Im a senior in highschool and i decided to stop being that much shy so i have been making a few more friends in class just to see if by doing that i could become less shy.
Im an 8 whenever im talking to some girl i dont know.
