If you consider the fact that Sabo was as strong as Ace in the flashback... Then, he might be a formidable pirate at the present time. It would be interesting to see a noble's son becoming a powerful pirate. I hope he escapes somehow so that we can see him in the present story line soon. It would definitely be interesting.

That's the thing, we never know what Dragon is up to. His character is as mysterious as Gol D. Roger's. I don't think we will be getting answers about him any time soon...
