My parents pretty much allow me and my siblings to do what we please as long as it's not illegal or dangerous. Which is cool since it's easier to share my life with them. Cool parents, yo.

My parents thought it was a bit weird at first because I was the only kid I knew of (or they knew of really) that actually liked manga and anime. And I would watch it on my TV at home in the family room because we never had access to anything online, so they would see what I was watching and it was so different from mainstream television (at the time) they thought I was a bit odd for having those interests. But I think over time, they came to accept my taste in entertainment, especially because it didn't really interfere with my other roles and responsibilities. They'd see it as a problem if I just shut myself up read manga all day, everyday, but in the grand scheme of things they really don't mind what I do. Part of that is also because I'm now in my early 20's so I have a lot more independence to just be who I am.
