Would you consider yourself insane?
Or do you often hear other people calling you weird, crazy or insane?
Ive done some "insanity tests" on the net : the first one was 48% and the second one 99% 😀

If randomly setting things on fire in my apartment is crazy, yes.

Everyone is insane. We all just know how to hide it.

Define insanity and we can talk it through.

I'm well-aware of insanity, and I'm very glad that right now, I'm sane. I never want to go out of sanity ever again. If you truly experienced it, you'd feel the same way after regaining your mind.

Insanity is when your perception of the world is way out of line, and doesn't conform to the regular. It's when you hear things normal people wouldn't, or when you see things or feel things that normal people wouldn't. It's when you question authority and most basic social rules and norms that regular people abide by.

It's when, for example, you think your dead sibling is alive, or when you think the tv is talking to you, or you think you can hear peoples' thoughts and think you're telepathic.

It's not fun, but I do admit, one who becomes insane forgets to care about what others think of the person and acts according to one's whims. I guess people could perceive that as a positive aspect, but it's also very dangerous. If you're insane, you have a very high chance of hurting yourself or someone else physically, which is why...If you're insane, until you regain your sanity, you belong in an institution.

Also, if you're in an institution, you're made to sleep through most of the day with regular sedatives, with only a few books to read, little to do, and a blaring television as your source of entertainment during the day. You have an early bedtime (which is aided by sleeping pills to put you to rest), and you wind up waking up late. You eat whatever's given and will find yourself putting on more weight as your time in the institution accumulates, because there's not much physical activity.

Then, to top it off, you or your guardian ends up paying thousands for your time there.

Sanity is something to be savored. The freedom to take a walk during the day, take the bus, go shopping (even for groceries), to use the computer and internet, to read manhwa, to visit people, etcetera, is why being sane is priceless.

Insanity

Definitively not insane, but if you say, some kind of anormal behaviour, everyone does have one, still does not equal to being insane. The people in the middle always are more than the people in the extremes, i think.

it's insane how people consider plain humanity insane these days....we all know that each of us is different from one another, and still expect us all to follow the same line they put for us, how crazy is that? just because somebody is different from you, you start calling him/her crazy, it's just that people can't get into there heads that nobody is like anybody, sure we might share likes and dislikes but our reasons for liking what we like and disliking what we dislike are all different. and so people go on saying he's crazy and she's crazy!

A truly insane human is unable to notice, that there's sth wrong with him. In his eyes, he is the only normal person in the whole world.

As for me, I'm not insane.
I'm completely normal.

As normal means something that follows the norms that've
been set to it, I must say that I am not normal.
However, I can tell that I am sane, although Axis did
say that questioning authority, social rules and norms is not sane.
To me, there is no sanity or insanity for we humans have
made the human, sane and insane.

That is true indeed. Also, how you define insanity is up to you. I mean, I think that terrorists are more or less insane, but others might say that they're just working towards a goal in their own way.

As for myself, I think I'm just crazy, not insane.

And a friend of mine is seen as pretty insane by the rest of our whole class, but I don't see him as insane. Just enormously irritating...

I'm so sane people consider me boring. Everyone wants to think of themselves as special - being called insane may actually flatter someone. Meh.

Yeah I know what you mean and Ive experienced it
sometimes it sounds funny and its cool to do whatever you feel like cos others wont think a lot and just say: forget it shes insane!
it really is funny to hear that but sometimes when you feel REALLY bad, its just horrible!
Ive already heard al lot of people telling me to go and see some doc but I always refuse 😛

There's a difference between not sharing the same social beliefs and being insane. You could think murdering helpless animals is all right, for food (or some other purpose) but as long as you don't act on it, you're not insane. Insanity is the inability to control human instincts of murder and lust. That or hormone and enzyme inbalances in the mind. Who want's dopamine!?
