That been quite obvious way before Sasuke even left the village.

it appears to me that the atkatsuki and hawk are now one in the same... at last for the time being. in all likelihood kisame didn't fight with hawk but rather delayed them and enjoyed a cup of tea together. its been explicitly stated that kisame is the most gentlemanly of the atkatsuki.

outside of how sasuke, hawk looked entirely unaffected. kisame would have indeed kicked some ass if he had wanted to, his nearly limitless supply of chakra and samehada blade guarantee that. in regards to pain, tsunade will seek vengeneance for tha,t while kakashi fights madara and naruto fights sasuke... unless kishimoto decides to do some fanservice and have neji fight sasuke first. the rest of team konoha will gather together to fight the remaining members of hawk and the atkatsuki.

i don't think that's what he meant, because if naruto dies, the kyuubi dies too, i think it had a deeper meaning.
