Well, he did exactly that but in a different way. Roger died smiling and Whitebeard died standing in the facing the whole marine force and Shichibukai.

Even in death, no one could bring him down. Morover, just added fuel to the fire which Gold D. Roger started. Thus, now the great legacy is shared by 2 great men, Gold D. Roger and Whitebeard. Such honorable rivalry and friendship...

Masterpiece!Masterpiece!!!! Its a very100x beautiful n fantastic way to end of the 1st half of this manga.
Clash of giants (Whitebeard vs Marine n Shicibukai), Ace dead (the last bloodline of Roger the Pirate King - the person who start the pirate era. But Fuck i dont see that comin), Whitebeard dead (its show that the era of oldies is end and now its really the start of the new age of pirate), new arc enemy (BB n his new crewmates, wew thats 1 heck of a crew there),the start n the man who will carry out the will of "D" and to strengthen the title of this manga n the goal of this manga...that is Whitebeard,"One Piece exist.".......

Grand chapter, applause for Oda-sensei. Nonetheless,its a masterpiece!!!

Did WB get BB's entire left arm? or was it a shoulder wound? Either way, I loved the part when WB countered BB's DF ability with pure strength. Just shows you how awesome he is.

Oda is a genius. I just loved how the will of D is making a comeback. Also, WB said that Ace's will is going to live on in one person that will inherit centuries of history (which probably includes the Void History). Maybe Luffy is going to be the special person. Mmm, I can't wait for the next chapter!
