Well sure he does make her do housework, but it's not like he abused her, and treated her like crap and raped her, it's definitely not one of those manga, it's very lighthearted and it's not like he never does anything for her and doesn't care about her. The guy isn't some kind of masochistic, arrogant guy who abuses his girlfriend, that's for sure, he's a nice guy overall and does treat her nicely and cares for her.
Masochists don't abuse their girlfriends...
And I don't think that a guy should expect a girl to do all the housework either. In fact, that ideas prevalence in manga really pisses me off.
Oops, I meant sadistic. And well, the girl doesn't really seem to do much in the house, except really cook(other times, she seems to like shopping), and the guy doesn't really have time to do it cause he has to work to pay the rent(while the girl gets all the money from her family).

Not sure if you've read this yet but Mars is a good one to read. It goes a lot deeper than just the relationship too but it's not all that fluffy.
"For a long time I wasn't listening to music, to the rock and roll stuff on the radio, because it would cause me to get sweaty--it would bring back memories I didn't want to know about, or I would get that feeling that I'm not alive 'cause I'm not making it. And if it was good, I hated it 'cause I wasn't doing it. And if it was bad, I was furious 'cause I could've done it better..."
