I think a lot of people buy pocky not because it tastes good (which of course, it does), but because it's a popular snack in Japan. I doubt the same people would be buying it if it wasn't for the anime/manga influence.

As for me...yes. I bought pocky regularly before. I usually buy the seasonal ones because they're "special" and they're only available for a limited amount of time. The winter edition of pocky is the best (tastes a lot like chocolate truffle)......although it's also the most expensive.^^;; Right now I don't buy them anymore. Where I live right now, they only offer the basic flavors, so I don't think it's worth it. If I saw the winter pocky being sold here though, I'd definitely buy it. ^^

So many experts on pocky. 🤣
Can someone tell me how much they cost?
The expensive and the cheap.

Pocky is definitely overpriced. Disregarding the number of the cookies per box, which isn't that high, the cookies themselves aren't even that good. The unusual shape makes them fun to eat, but you can get more plain cookies (or other candies) for much cheaper, that taste even better. Pocky doesn't taste bad, but is it by no means the tastiest sweet.

It seems to me that some people are so obsessed with this mediocre cookie. They seem to like it because anime characters eat it, and because it's popular in Japan, which somehow makes it a "cool" treat, when it reality it's merely ok.

I giggled so much watching this:

Anyways, back to the topic - pocky is overpriced. The comic books shops sell it for $4-5. >.< But it's supposedly really cheap at those family stores (Walmart, Cosco, etc...) But I still buy it, I can't help it T.T

I like Wafer chocolates (or whatever they're called) more:

Yes, I think it's worth it, it's a nice snack to have. And what do you mean pricey? It's not pricey at all imo, but I guess it depends on where you live and your access to those products. I live in a somewhat sizeable city with a good number of asian communities so there's always some Asian market around that sells Pocky at a relatively low price. It's usually no more than 1 or 2 dollars where I buy it.

I used to buy it all the time when I was a little kid, but my parents paid for it. The only place where you can buy it where I live is in Chinatown and it costs 2 to 3 bucks. Nowadays, I don't buy it, but there are times where I do and they're so good. Although in my mind I think, "You wasted your money for something like this and it's not even that much, but... it's good. Argh!"

It's not worth it, because it's overpriced.

Unless you get it at the Asian supermarket of course. They sell it cheap there, But even so, it's just an overhyped piece of bread dipped in chocolate. I don't see how people can keep eating it.

For the plain chocolate & the strawberry, it's around $1.00 for the small box & $2.00 for the big box, I think (haven't bought it for a while). The more unusual/seasonal/specialty flavors are more expensive.

As for whether it's delicious or "not that good", I guess it just depends on individual tastes. 😃

It's a tad overpriced...and it's actually quite a simple delight.
But that simplicity tastes so good that you're left craving for more. I think they've secretly drugged us. >____>
