Survey: Is Pocky Worth It?

That poll at the top is so biased. Most of the options are tilted in favor of Pocky. Where's the "Pocky tastes bad and I wouldn't buy it if cost 1 cent" option?

In germany they are named mikado and made by a german company
the price is around 1€ for 75g, if i'm not mistaken, so it isn't much for the price you pay
but it tastes good, you can have a lot of fun with it and everybody from my friends/family likes them
ps. until i found this thread i didn't know what exactly is pocky and i never thought of it as something typical japanese, it's a part of my life just like the other sweets

Erm, don't know... I think it's overpriced, around $3 from where I shop, if I remember correctly. But it's fun to eat, no? I prefer Yan Yan though... you dip it yourself, and they have weird messages~~~ lol (and they're less than a dollar too!)
Pocky has chocobanana flavor though >__< way too much temptation not to buy that...
Ohhh God. Yan Yan... they're a dollar here but those messages...
Golden Egg (Egg)?
Snail Mail (Snail)?
I think those messages are practically made to say "WE DON'T SPEK GOOD ENGLISH. WE ARE FOREIGN SNACK." They're sooo freaking funny because they make absolutely NO sense.
Back to the topic
The smallest box of Pocky (with about 12 sticks) is about $1.39 here. You can get a lot better snacks and/or a lot more of them for that kind of money. I still occasionally buy it though when I don't feel like buying Yan Yan.

Don't think it's worth it. Then again, I'm Korean so I've had Pocky since I was a kid. I didn't know that it was a "novelty" snack for otaku's until I started going to manga forums. It's just ok, not that good not that bad. I agree with amaranthine that Yan Yan is alot better... even Yan Yan isn't amazing though. My snacks of choice are Hot Cheetoes and fried green tea ice cream.

Practically all Japanese imports are pretty expensive or at least, not as cheap as I think they should be. Almost all Chinese food products/snacks are a lot cheaper and are equal in tastiness most of the time.

I've actually never had pocky, so I wouldn't know. People seem to think it's utter BLASPHEMY to go through life without trying it, but I've just never had the drive to actually go out and find a place that sells it. 😐

...With this alone, I have gone too far. 😐

As an occasional treat it is definitely worth it, but as a thing you would have constantly? Not so much. It costs like 1.45 here so I like getting a few once in a while but I wouldn't keep one around at all times. It really is addictive though...

Saw it at the grocery store yesterday and decided to pick it up, just to see what all the fuss was about. It's definitely not all that, nor worth the price, but it wasn't horrible.
