In a few days is the infamous April Fools' Day (April 1st). At MU, we [color=red]WILL NOT[/color] tolerate any fake/joke releases being reported/announced to us (on any day, not just April Fools). If we, by accident, allow a fake release to get through, please report the mistake to us (either via a [sitelink=submit.html?act=add_change]Change Request[/sitelink] form, through the forum, post a comment in this news post, or you can email me at lambchopsil[at]mangaupdates[dot]com if you are not a registered member here).

As you have been warned against doing it, if we discover a person still attempting to post a joke release here, that person will be dealt with. Severe action will be taken upon that scanlation group.

Some people seem to think this news post is a joke or something similar. I assure you, I am being totally serious. Don't take it lightly.

And we can figure out if someone is trying to frame a group. We're not naive, so don't even try.

Personally, I'm happy to see that MU's stance never chances on this front 🙂 There are so many other jokes on the internet on April 1, there's no point cluttering MU with them, too.

That annoying day is their again, I think my fingers will enjoy clicking on the delete button (deleting fake releases). No jokes please, because you need to be serious as those releases are permanent.

Even after dead, we raise from the ashes for the sake of manga.

I don't really mind either way, but you guys need to lighten up. It's not like you'd lose members and I'm sure they'd all get found. Basically got a monopoly on scanlation releases. No fun.

One question: what would happen if somebody used a proxy chain or Tor and posted fake releases? Could you figure out their real IP and ban them? Well, I think I already know the answer...

I Hate April fools it gives people an excuse to be a dick. I've already seen one joke release and the day has barely begun. I just hope no one posts it to MU.

It's not about deleting the releases its about telling people there's a new chapter when there's really just some bs to waste your time. No one is laughing, its not funny.

I disagree with That3rdGuy and appreciate MU stance on this.

I wouldn't want to get excited over a release, take my time to go search for it only for it to be a stupid prank.

Also, we don't know exactly how much time clearing out fake releases take, so cannot say its just a few or that it is not a big deal.

What's the point of it anyway? I appreciate MU's strict stance on this. April Fools is a silly farce that needs to be stamped out. I believe it rewinds evolution. Do it long enough and we might regress to a lower life form.

Well to be honest the LNT scene is filled with so many april fools, that I don't think that any group should post an update on MU today just to be safe.

Heck its gotten so wacky that some groups like [url]http://https://9ethtranslations.wordpress.com/[/url] do an april fools we're they post 5 chapters for series that they don't normally translate from instead, but don't tell anyone until the very last minute.
