Lover from the past comes back

Hey everyone!
I'm looking for a manga where the main love interest is someone the protagonist had history with in the past. Ideally, they would've been a couple before the story takes place and were forced to break up, or perhaps their relationship was taboo at the time. Years later, the love interest tracks the protagonist down (or chances upon them) and wins them back.
It would be great if the main character were female and the love interest was male - but I will settle for the other way around as well.
Thanks =B

It is still ongoing, but this was the first series that came to mind:

(Even though the quote above is from Hamlet, I first saw it in a Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer on YouTube ^o^)

Ryuu no Hanawazurai might fit...
Though it is sort of inconclusive, he pretty much wins her back in the end
~4400 manga completed
~1700 ongoing...

This fits the bill really well. Thanks!
I was kind of hoping for something a little bit more mature though - something that isn't set in high school. It would be awesome if the couple was together during high school or college but if the series is set some time in the future in the workplace or something.
EDIT: Something like Love Scar.

This isn't totally what you're looking for, but I love it so I'll suggest it anyway. 🤣
Bokura ga Ita
The couple gets together in the first chapter, they're together for awhile, then due to various circumstances they separate & there's a time skip. The story resumes post-high school and the rest of the story is unravelling the mystery of what went wrong and their gradual reintroduction to each other. Female character is pursuing the male. Lots of angst in this one, don't read if you're in the mood for comedy.
Oh, and Renai Shinjuu fits perfectly (other than the fact that it's high school), but it's terrible IMO. In a funny way though.
