i'm just wondering about the public opinion, 😁
well i've just started reading hoshi wa utau and i do like it...but i cant help but point out that the storyline might ended up being typical unlike fruits basket of course with the sohma curse and all..
what do you guys think?

didnt like fruits basket at all, dunno about the hoshi wa utau thing tho. U might say that's cuz im a guy, but i happen to have read and read a lot of shojo manga, and I just thought fruits basket was kinda dumb. Mainly cuz i HATED the main character, and since i'm not attracted to any part of the bishies in the story, the entire story just fell flat for me. Gave up after like 5 volumes.

Those are two different manga..
Written by the same mangaka..
Differend consepts ,characters and plotline.

I loved fruits basket, it's my favorite shoujo (and I don't like most shoujo..).
"Hoshi wa utau" is good, lookes nice and cute.
The art is better comapring with the first volumes of furuba.

Yes, maybe it's not as original as "Fruits Basket", but it's still has sweetness, and a good, and quite unique plot for a shoujo manga.

I love Furuba, this Hoshi wa Utau somehow reminds me to it. But Hoshi wa Utau is also very wonderful, about the characters: not perfect, not all good-looking, has dark past [ Sakuya].
Those two manga are different, but somehow I see Tohru in Sakuya.

the plot in this manga just keeps getting intriguing by the minute.now there's a new character to watch out for.we dont know his name yet...

oh yeah the art in hoshi wa utau even though its the same in the later volumes of furuba is a lot more better if compared to the other.its beautiful and dark in the same time,if you get what i mean that is..

-i should really sleep- 😀

I looooved furuba! it was so good, yet so emotional! i cried so much! it's the same with hoshi wa utau. I love it too! Just as much. But i'm kinda glad that Sakuya isn't fully like Tohru. Tohru was awesome, but she never really showed when she was down, unlike Sakuya. I like people who aren't always perfect. But nevertheless, i love both of the mangas equally! 🙂

i think fruits basket is a really good manga and i love it to bits.
hoshi wa utau looks really good at the moment ive read all the chapters for it so far.
i wouldnt say its better though. I thought the charaters are good and none of them annoy me (which is always a good thing with any manga) and the plot is really interesting...just thinking about it i want to know what happens next.

when it comes to compareing manga im not the best.

anyway there no point asking if a manga is better if its still early in the story...

i dont want to pin hoshi wa utau on furuba though.two very different mangas.but in beginning wise,Furuba had more comedy than hoshi wa utau.the plot in hoshi wa utau right frm the beginning is depressing and melancholic unlike in furuba.there's not much humour in Hoshi wa Utau..which is why i take it as an interesting manga.both manga's are nice in their own way.
perhaps it's a lil too early to compare the manga's.i just wished that hoshi wa utau will be as popular as furuba..haha

I wouldn't say "better" cus they are different, but i would say that for a while I liked HwU more than I did Furuba, but now that has reversed and I found a new-found fondness for Furuba that i had somehow lost along the way...
I liked the "unrequited love" theme and for a while it seemed that way, but now i'm not too sure, I mean Chihiro has been warming up to Saku a lot, even though we can;t say for sure what's goign on..all I know is that if somehow Yuuri ends up like another version of Momiji, i'll be greatly disappointed....

i surely hope not...even though the main plot revolves around unrequieted love. Yuuri is so cute eh...not that Chihiro isnt hot..haha
anyways whatever the outcome of the manga is,i'm sure it will be a blast..crosses finger.

While I did really like Furuba, I'm really getting into HwU. Both have very dark story elements and lovely art that kept my attention. Furuba started to bug me towards the end of the series though, so I hope that HwU won't disappoint!

LOL..yeha that was what happeend to me and Furuba, towards the end it started to beother me, but then I have re-read the end and somehow that uneasiness has left me, and I was instantly hooked HwU, but as of late the story seems to go in a direction im not sure i like and and i'm really hoping that it wont dissapoint...

I know for a fact that I LOVE Takaya Natsuki.
Of course, Hoshi wa Utau would remind me of Furuba... but I still think Furuba is the best. (I might be biased since Furuba is my no. 1)
The dark atmosphere of Chihiro makes me wonder who he really is, and how he's connected to Sakuya and stuff.

if uve read the current chapters ull know how they r connected.

the plot is sad yet charming in its own ways...but i guess i love both manga equally.in furuba i was cheering for kyo,but in hoshi wa utau my fav character is kanade even though he's just sakuya's guardian and is not her love interest nor he has nay romantic feelings for her...
aih...yeah im just rambling, aside from that my cheer goes to Yuuri coz he deserves Sakuya.
