I understand... compared to G Gundam, Turn-A Gundam, After War X, and SEED Destiny I thought it was far better. Also, to me, it was generally on par with or even better SEED (partially because I really hated the protagonist). You guys are the worst...seriously...are we really comparing FMP to Gundam...thats like comparing cars to bikes(the ones without motors for u smart asses)...just cuz they both have wheels doesn't mean they go as fast.

FMP was boring after the secnd episode 🤢 the characters powers and stuff kept making less and less sense...and i wanted to kno less about them the longer the series went on. seriously...black technology...THATS RACIST!!!! 🙁

Yeah... I agree that Gundam gets pretty easy to predict. It's the same old "take over the world" FAIL plot.

They need to scale the whole thing down a bit. Make the characters have their own personal goal which differ from the good old "for revenge", "for justice", "take over the world", or "save the world". Anyone who has read Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed Astray can see what I'm talking about. It had a good deal of humor and still lots of action. The characters were all very likable, and felt like real people who were just trying to make the best of the times they were living in.

Gundam 00 had awesome animation, with almost no recycled stuff, but the plot was just too simple... basically a modern take on Gundam Wing. They themselves said that's what it was, just like Seed was the original's copy. But the thing is, they need something new. It was bad enough that Destiny was the same thing as Seed (with different looking death laser than Seed), there was no need to re-create Wing as well.

Reason why so many ppl hated Destiny was because it was like deja vu of Seed. At least 00, has the potential to turn into something different if aliens are introduced in the possible next season (now that the world is united). We'll see where the movie leads up to.

I think 00 borrowed a lot of ideas from FMP with the whole terrorist thing and the justice organization taking them down. Mythril = Celestial Being
Still FMP just had much more fleshed out characters, since they weren't in their mobile suits all the time.

I dissagree with the whole take over the world thing tho. If you really look at the bad guys in most of the realistic Gundam story lines thier ideals wouldn't technically make a bad world...just a different one.

In 00 if ribbon's had won the final battle the world would still be better than it was ryte now if you really think about it. Sure it would be a complete sham and a global dictator ship but thats just what it would start out as. Anywho i digress. All Gundam series have used things like future technology and terrorist actions. Look at Gundam Wing for example. The main Gundams weren't really on the side of an army but more of thier own side...why else would Hiro go around blowing s*** up the way he did?

Yeah, and the one who created the character designs for Gundam 00 was the same person who made Loveless. Can it be more obvious that Sunrise is trying to cater to the girls as well, aside from catering to the guys through mecha. 🤣

I guess I'm pretty predictable. Yeah, if I don't see something on the same level as Sumeragi Lee Noriega (my main reason for tuning into 00 each week), I'm not watching it.

Despite being designed by some shounen-ai mangaka, her and most of the other 00 chicks were very hot (but I suppose that shouldn't surprise me, the anime girl I'd list as hottest was designed by CLAMP). So I can't complain about their choice of designer.

I have no interest in mecha on it's own if there are no hot chicks. Perhaps that makes me as bad as the girls watching it for the pretty boys and yaoi subtext. I don't know.

Anyways back to the gundam thing, if it's really called unicorn, I think there's already a gundam model out for it so I don't know. Maybe it'll just be a ova, movie and not a series.

Also, What's wrong with good looking gundam male characters. If you got a problem with good looking guys then tv is not for you as most actors are.

If I'm not mistaken, Gundam Unicorn was featured in Dengeki Hobby not too long ago. I've seen the actual model in person as well, and I must say...it must be hell to put that together @_@

Terrible name, nice designs. Will check out. Gundam 00 was far better than the last few Gundams so I have hope.

FMP is overrated but still better than most Gundams.

I've heard a lot of good things about Gundam Unicorn from friends so I have high expectations for it. Whether it's a genuine review or just their fanboyism talking, I'll know soon enough.

Gundam Wing does have points in awesome Mobile Suits, but Gundam 00 was top-notch when it came to the story. Unlike Operation Meteor which is just dealt the destruction of enemy military, 00 expanded on that, went so far to go against enemy military AND operations. 00 loses points on the Gundams themselves... they look far too similar to each other. (At least Wing had a distinct and badass look from each other.)

This new one is promising.

Back to UC, hm? Better have plenty of Char-cameos.

I'll probably check it out, regardless. Seems a little more interesting that 00, at least. I haven't even bothered with 00 yet, 'cause nothing grabbed me about it.

Can't be worse than Destiny though, I guess. Destiny made me sad. It almost wasn't worth it to sit through 45 episodes of Shin being a whiny, arrogant piece of crap just to get ~5 episodes of Kira cutting things to pieces in the Freedom.

I like to think Shin was just Sunrise's way to kick dirt in the eyes of anyone who complained about Kira not being enough of a badass. "You think KIRA'S a bad main character? We'll show you!" God damn, we're sorry Sunrise, just give us Kira back, please, please.

(In summary, I liked Gundam Seed, and have grown fond of Kira and especially the Freedom, but god damn, sitting through Destiny was hard. No, seriously, what was the deal with Shin?)

Anyhow, with any luck, this new Gundam will have more of a Wing feel. By which I don't refer to character designs or anything(as I'm told 00 was similar in that respect), but more... setting, perhaps. Wing didn't have any of the happy-go-lucky teenage girls, nor silly romantic troubles, or people upset about fighting former friends.

There were soldiers, fighting a desperate war, and everything took itself very seriously, and things were dramatic. Comedy was sparser and more mature, usually consisting of a witty and sarcastic remark, Heero being way too casual in an impossible situation, or on the rare occasion, a certain someone dismantling the Deathscythe to fix his own machine.

Point is, while it didn't necessarily make for better or worse entertainment, that dead serious attitude is something I have felt from more recent titles, and would like to see again. I'm not saying other Gundams were silly or anything, it just... wasn't the same feel.
