I throw the penalty flag on the yuri statement. Don't care for that category either, but searching on this site at least yuri search produced 3 pages where yaoi produced 60. Romance overall produced 48 pages. Maybe just not many yuri translators/updaters to provide accurate numbers but thats a huge gap.

And I already conceded that there are much more yaoi especially if you consider the amount of fanfictions and fanarts out there. There's a big difference between yaoi (general) and fanyaoi (sick and disgusting and makes me want to go to those people's homes and murder them). I will read yaoi (mostly if it has a good plot - I'm not one to read stories for sex only), and not yuri, but yaoi of shounen/seinen series by fans that turns normally straight characters gay is just wrong. And it isn't the gay aspect of it, it's the fact that it's wrong to take characters and change their personalities because you think it's right that pretty boys should be together.

Same goes for straight non-canon couples. Sakura and Kakashi are not going to suddenly get together and start banging each other just because a fan or two (or three, or four, or five hundred) thinks they'd be sweet together.

The whole point of disclaimers on fanfics is to show that the characters are NOT yours, which means that someone else made them the way they wanted them to be, and you can't just change that because you don't like what the manga-ka did. >_>

Again, I don't think it's about the yaoi. I could care less if some fangirl (and yes, it usually is fangirls - fanboys tend to stick to hentai doujinshi instead of writing yaoi fanfics and drawing yaoi fanart and sticking it everywhere on the net) loves the pairing of two actually gay characters who might actually have a relationship, but if they're not compatible, and definitely if they're not gay, then I'd rather not see it at all. Thanks.

The reason OP probably addressed yaoi fangirls is because they're the loudest and most obnoxious and most willing to defend their "canon" pairings.

Why can't they just accept that, no, Sasuke and Naruto has a 99.99% chance of NEVER happening. Instead, they're all making music videos of pictures of them together on youtube and posting comments like, "SQUEEEE! KAWAII! ^_^ THEY'RE MEANT 2 B" And if someone raises an objection, they explode into screams of, "WELL HOW DO YOU KNOW THE AUTHOR ISN'T PAIRING THEM TOGETHER? IT'S TOTALLY REALISTIC!'

They're so annoying. I can see why so many people hate them, I, too hate them. I like yuri/shoujo-ai/loli(>_< Not hentai, necessarily, you perverts...). At least I don't run around screaming "SAKURA/TOMOYO IS CANON!" because even though I like it, it's not.

And for the whole "forbidden love", that's great. Yaoi is becoming less and less "forbidden" nowadays, with gay sex becoming less and less stigmatised. So...

You can like yaoi. But please...Just take a chill pill and stop being so boisterous about it.

what pisses me off are pairings where the people don't even know each other! Like ZabuzaXHinata from Naruto(yes,I've seen that!) or JiraiyaXNeji!Or RenXPilika from Shaman King...people who do this are mad!
