Ane Doki ending with chapter 26

So it must have been obvious to you all as to why there was such hurried development but the real reason is that due to it constantly ranking in the bottom 5 , ane doki has been cancelled and this weeks issue of WSJ will have its final chapter.
Imho, the story was okay in the beginning but slowly and slowly it started to lose focus and later on it became a complete mess. Mizuki is capable of doing better than this and I really really feel that she should team up with a good writer on her next series. Her art is good enough for a rom-manga but she needs a little help on the writing front.
Edit: Sorry, I should have written chapter 26. The series has ended as of 13/01/2010. RIP.
Really?
Well to be honest, the fact that she's 4 years older than him, (and he's only 13 as well) I'm a bit :/ about that. I didn't want that to put me totally off though so I gave it a chance anyway.
It's not terrible or anything, but yeah, it's not fantastic either.
As long at is has an ending, of any sort, that's ok. Please dear god have an ending.

ya it was obvious it was going to end but I feel sad for Kawashita-sensei cuz all her series are great but all of them don't last like Ichigo 100% I think it's because it's Weekly Shounen Jump. Maybe if she went to Jump SQ then she will be successful.
Also I saw rumors on the internet that they are going to make it into an anime.
I guess that's something to look forward too if it's true

Aaaaaw....
There goes my Kawashita-sensei fix TT_TT
I liked Ane-doki.
I felt Hatsukoi gentei was a little better ('cept the ending, pffft), but this was special in it's own way.
I quite liked the whole "she is older than him by 3 years" thing.
You don't really see that often and it's sorta every 13 year old boy's fantasy (perhaps at it's weakest ^_^; ; )
Let's hope it'll have an ending that I like! (like lilim kiss' ending)

Scyfon, I think one of teh reason it did so bad was that 'older by 4 years' thing.
You may say it is a dream, but not su good setup for an actual romance.
Ah but 4 years is no big deal, you may say and you would be right. There are manga's with 7 year gap or even more, but the key is the way characters are portrayed. And the hero looked like a kid both mantally and physically compared to the heroine, thus all the fanservice had no romance tone to it.
Heck, Negi from Negima is also much younger, but his pairings do not look as ridiculous because he is portrayed more mature than his age thus the gap isnt as strong as in Ane-Doki.
Another thing is that such series like TLR had more fanservice, but what it was also important that fanservice had a romantic tone to it as well. In Ane-Doki there isn't that much of fanservice, and because of age difference there is no romance to repay for the lack of it, and story felt dull.
The only way was if the hero went for the girls similar to his age, but it seems like people are not that interested in romances between little kids...

Hahahah But if we talk about Mahou sensei negima than whe talk about a story of the great master named Ken Akamatsu and he is on a whole other level than Kawashita-sensei. Look at Love Hina he surely knows how to make interesting manga´s who are not short.

WSJ is truly a manga crusher. I guess even the great art work of Kawashita-sensei is unable to help this manga go on without a decent plot 😐

Too bad. I was starting to quite enjoy this manga.
I actually thought it would go on for a while longer.
The age difference of 3-4 years kind of stopped any real romance from developing. With the whole moving away thing I was thinking of a time skip to highschool or something. Then him returning to his old home and a chance meeting with her again. Then some serious romance development.
Oh well. Maybe something truly brilliant will take it's place. Though chances are slim, it being WSJ and all.

Thats a shame to hear, I think it was a pretty ok manga.
But I really thought it was going to go on for a bit longer.
Hopefully it will give a good ending. I'd hate to see it end up like
To-LOVE-Ru did. That ending really made me upset.

Man...crappy news. But I kind of saw it coming...I mean, it's not as detailed and "mysterious" as Ichigo 100%...still enjoyable. Anyway, as long as it has a decent ending I'm okay with it...
A better manga will follow...hopefully
