For a while, they thought that ps2 emulation was impossible, and now, it's just starting since the ps3 came out.

I'd like them to try to emulate the Wii and its controls. now that would be hard.

I really don't want a one console future and thats where i think we're heading. i mean look at what Microsoft's doing with vista and the 360. ps3 as much as i love it really isn't holding its own against the 360 as well as it could or should, and eventually the 360 is just going to completely dominate the market. Microsoft trying to monopolize the "gaming" industry is infuriating to me.

You think too much about the US market and not enough of the worldwide market.

PS3: Approx. 9.22 mil
360: Approx. 16.48 mil

360 already had its 100% foolproof game in Halo 3 come out and has had a year start. PS3 has yet to release their foolproof games like the TWO FFXIII games, Gran Turismo, and God of War.

Nah, competition is actually good. Monopolies tend to get lazy, and stop being innovative. If they have a tough competitor, they'll try harder to be better than them, hence bringing more innovations, and high quality consoles! We're all winners, then. 😮

On the consumer side, it would be nice to have 1 console to play all your games, but will be terrible for the development side. No competition will mean not much room for innovation. In particular, without Nintendo, gaming would not be moving towards a new potential gaming style ie motion controllers.

maybe not one console, but multiple platform releases of the future games... some companies do that, and i would love if everyone do the same!

Competition is good, so yes I do like the fact that there are more than one console on the market I just wish I could be the right console for me. xD

the day may come... microsoft does a much better job of designing consoles than it does an OS
and i can get all my favorite games for it so im good 😎

It would be convenient, I think. I have ps3 but some of my friends have xbox, so there's the constant argue about which is better... >_<
