I read a pretty good yuri before. It was about two girls who were best friends. There was a lot of sex, but not in a totally pointless way. Wish I could remember what it was.
I actually love it when I'm reading a yaoi manga and there is a yuri couple in it. 🙂

I'm thinking Maka-Maka.
And I think Loveless has some yuri in it for being primarily a Yaoi or is it shounen ai?

Love it, though i agree it's under-represented in comparison to Yaoi. While here aren't a whole heap of great series (as far as i can tell Yuri atm is mostly 1 shots 😕 , or maybe that's just my sources) it seems to be picking up.

Light yuri or shoujo-ai often have beautiful and original plots.
But there is simply less yuri than yaoi, so it is almost impossible to make a fair comparison.

Hm, I beg to differ.
I like girls love stories for female readers a lot. But I really dislike most aimed at male readers. There's often a huge difference in character design and relationship development, imho, and you can see all to often that one is from a 'feeling with the characters'-view and the other from a voyeuristic view.
But I have the same problem with boys love stories as well. While I adore the typical from-females-for-females manga, I don't enjoy the wide majority of bara and the likes. It's targeting men after all and I'm clearly the wrong audience.
