Track for me..... but not the running kind. **Motorsport!! ** 😎
I ride superbikes, motocross and do some KF1 Karting to keep in shape. Nothing on this earth is more physically demanding than motocross, except maybe triathlons, the Tour de France and Himalayan mountain climbing.
From your list.... Badminton.... hitting a cock that's not my own is really satisfying. 😀 (I simply cannot understand why badminton pros don't get paid as much as tennis pros)
You should include boxing and martial arts in your poll. Cycling as well.
I tried skiing while I was living in Japan a few years ago. Went downhill very fast, but not upright....heh!
It doesn't matter what sport you're into and whether you're good at it or not, as long as you're keeping fit.
Cheers!
BTW.... **Pro-gamers, pro-eaters and golfers are NOT athletes. ** 😔

Sports =/= Athletic competition.
Even if golfers aren't athletes,
golf can be a sport. You don't
learn golf in a day.

I have the utmost respect for golfers. The level of finesse required by pros is astounding. But they're not athletes. It's more like a skilled profession.... similar to a pro pool/snooker player.
Just my opinion. The dictionary says I'm wrong, but it's just my opinion.

Where's REAL football?
i don't really get american football...why is it even called football when it's not played with foot and only person that does play with foot comes especially in just to kick the thing that's not even a ball (John Cleese)
not to mention it's dead boring and lasts way to long...not even if Yoichi Hiruma came to life it wouldn't help a thing
If the sea were made of Whiskey and I was a duck
I'd swim to the bottom and never come up

It's not sport unless you're close to exhaustion/death.... so maybe Russian Roulette style chess would be considered a sport.
O-par-vor (my shabby attempt at immitating the monkey)

Not a sports person, but I'd have to say tennis.

I support your opinion 100%. Pro-golf might be a sport but pro-golfers definately shouldn't be called athletes.
As for me. I the only sport I watch is football (specifically UEFA and WorldCup).
I enjoy playing football, tennis, badmington (which is more fun than tennis IMO) and I like to swim and windsurf.

Hahaha, My thoughts exactly. Sports should be "extreme", not necessarily to the max but an activity should be moderately (at least) physically demanding as well as hard to do (needs practice, finesse etc...).
Of course not everyone will agree with me as this is my own opinion on the matter. Not that I don't enjoy other types of "sport" like mind games and things requiring you to think as well as have luck (poker, board games, etc), and more recently "pro-gaming", but they should be classified under a new category and not under the generalization of "sport". If we look back to the origins of sport :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports
back to ancient greek Olympics and ancient Chinese sports, the games have always been competitive and physically demanding.
For instance I recognize baseball players and sumo wrestlers as athletes, because even if their bodies are not "perfect" in an Olympian sence, their activities require great physical exertion. Sumo have to be amazingly strong and baseball players (even though quite a few seem obese to me with these huge beer bellies) have immense arm strenght. Pitchers throw the baseball at 90+ mph (~145+km/h) and the rest of the team can hit home runs (on a good day) of these really fast balls.
I actually use to think badly of baseball before, until one of my friends showed me that I couldn't hit any of his fast balls... even though he only claims to throw at 80-85 mph (which was either a vast understatement or that is still insanely fast to some1 who has never held a baseball bat).

U mean Parkour, rite?!.... Moving from point A to B, climbing walls, buildings, Équilibre, Demitour, Lâché ....etc.
Be careful man.... always wanted to try that, but no one in my area does it, so I don't wanna look like a muppet by myself.
Really loved that B13 movie.

I used to play basketball in school long ago and American football, but only backyard ball. I don't play anything anymore and I don't even really have much interest in watching professional sports anymore. Occasionally though, if I'm drinking with friends and watching I can feel myself getting into it again, just a bit.

I've seen a few guys doing parkour around my flat awhile ago... it was awesome, I wish I had the balance and physical strength you need for that. They seemed like they weren't even touching the walls and ledges they jumped on.
Yeah, you will look like an idiot doing it alone, but if you're with more friends, you can just pretend you're fooling around until you get the hang of it 😛 . Dunno if it should be classified as a "sport" but it sure sounds much more fun than running laps >_>.
