Magical X Miracle. It really doesn't seem like a Josei manga, but it is! 😕 I've also read Nodame Cantabile.

Nana was the first josei title I actively read. I loved it from the very beginning. I think it's harder to find josei titles in North America. I'm reading Ooku right now, and also read Midnight Secretary and Hapi Mari.

Magical x Miracle is not josei, it's pure shojo to the core.

Bride of the Water God, with the light are the best i can think of

Magical X Miracle is josei since Zero-Sum is a josei magazine and it's not surprising to me that this magazine published it. 😮

And Nana is shoujo. The content is not relevant. Demographic is magazine based.

Try: Magazines and their target audience

First josei title was Sano Mioko's Kimi no Inai Rakuen, which I hope to release sometime soon.

Nodame Cantabile I guess. That's the first one I recall as being Josei anyways.

Sorry but i'll take the mangaka's opinion over what ever magazine it's published in.Since Mizutani herself has stated the series is shojo, i'll go with that. Also, according to the info i've jut read, Zero Sum is a shojo mangazine anyway:

Monthly Comic Zero Sum is a monthly shōjo manga (targeted towards girls) magazine published by Ichijinsha. It contains over six-hundred pages and has a variety of genres. Its newest manga, #000000 ultra black, debuted in autumn 2007. Well-known manga include Saiyuki Reload, Amatsuki, 07 Ghost and Loveless. Some manga chapters have furigana next to kanji in the speech bubbles, which caters to the attention of readers of all ages.

But meh, the debate of demographics is age old, with the publication versus title never really being resolved.

I think the reason that we make demographics magazine based on this site is because a lot of titles will be debatable and people will edit them over and over again, then it will be never-ending. So candyloop's thread is made a reference.

A few days ago, I saw Flat (AOGIRI Natsu) was josei. O_O But one can argue with a lot of reasons. If we make it magazine based, it will be simpler. I think candyloop took magazines' reader polls into consideration when she made the thread. I wouldn't say it's completely correct this way but it's very helpful. Also josei means "female" and doesn't actually sepcify age. It sounds gimmicky but at least it has to be agreed on here that josei includes older females, no matter whether it also targets younger readers.

I think Comic Zero Sum is probably similar to the case of Champion Red. If the voice that doesn't agree that it's josei rather than shoujo is loud enough, it will probably be a shoujo magazine again on this site.
