New Poll - Fan-Colored Pages

A while back (in Jan '10), we had a poll about colored pages included in manga, but that dealt with pages colored by the author of the series. And before that (like 4 years ago), there was a poll about fanart in general. Now how do you feel about colored fanart today? I wonder how the results will change... And this poll was suggested by one of our series admins: lynira.

How can you be at the computer 10h each day without beeing jobless 😕
sleeping, eating, school/work/university and so on takes it's time.

I don't know about others, but all the shoujo mangas I read, fan-colored pages are awesome!!! I love them. i wonder why some hates them...

I work on a computer for 8 hours at work, so by default I'm in that category. Perhaps a better poll would have been how many hours each day people use a computer for leisure.

Usually I don't mind colored pages, some of them are well done, but it gets annoying when there's 5 or more in each release.

Well, believe it. I used to be online 10+ hours a day, but my health can't take that anymore. And some people are jobless, can't get a job, or can't work. Not everyone has the same life situation as you.

I love fan-colored pages when they do a good job (and most do), but there have been some groups who include ugly fan-colored pages too- you know, the ones where the skin is orange and they forgot how to shade. I hate those.

I totally hate fan colored pages and I can only stand them as long as there is the original page along with but I curse the scanlation group when they only include the colored page, I have a hard time to enjoy the manga and the mangaka art when I find those kind of releases. I mean, some of them can be nice but most of them (99,9% in my case) are ugly and bother me.

I find them really annoying too. Even the pages of fanart they shove in at times. I mean, do they really have to force it down our throats? Just have a fanart/fancolored section on their site or something. I don't particularly care about their art skills.

It could be because their job is to be on the computer. Plus their free time on computer.

I don't have a problem w/fan-colored pages IF they don't spend all of the time coloring the page and let the editing slide on the rest of the chapter. Some of them do a phenomenal job, but poor spelling, grammar and missing translations and poor quality seem to accompany most I've seen. As far as the colored pages themselves, I usually just skip them because they often resemble coloring-book pages with their pink or green hair and flat color.
