~ 400 completed and active reading titles which means still an intermediate amateur ... Not that much in 9 years comparing to those with 1k+ 😢

Amateur, not counting DJs, one shots and series I've barely touched. I've been reading manga for around 12 years, but didn't keep track for the first 5, and my reading slowed considerably when I started university. Now I'm doing my post grad (grad school for Americans) and I have no time at all to even keep up with the handful of series I still read. 🙁

I don't even know, but it's not about bow many, it's about the quality of what you have read.

Just an Intermediate professional...
It's somewhat at 1.2+ k, with all the oneshot and doujinshis...so, yay
my currently reading list is always stable at 100...
It's bothersome to add oneshots...too lazy to do so anyway...

don't talk me 'bout quality...I believe, what I read is best among bests...you can check my reading list for yourself to ensure...^^

I've just recently joined MU but I have been reading manga for the past 2 years. I'm an avid reader and I always have something to read, but I only read manga that are completely scanlated. I'm a very impatient person when it comes to manga and read even the longest mangas in a few days 🤣 Saying that, when I joined MU I never bothered to make any lists because who knows what I've read 😛 So, I just guessed around 1k-1.5k including oneshots, and I ended up being an intermediate professional 😀

How can I be ranked "amateur" when I've been reading for 10 years?
I can hardly find any manga left to read that seems interesting.
Not one Japanese person I met in Japan even came close to my otakuness.

Just a bit baffled by the title...

Amateur here, with one shots included. Back then I would read almost anything, now I'm extremely picky on what I read these days :/

Under 1000 series is at most an amateur.
My god, those are high standards.

Intermediate Amateur. 😎

Not counting doujins, oneshots, etc. it can't be more than 500 "proper" series, even including the stuff not recorded in my lists, considering I didn't bother with MU until quite recently. Now and then I stumble across a series that I remember I once read so I add it. But I'm certain the vast majority of said "proper" series that I read are in my lists. With that in mind, I'm honestly deflated. I've been reading manga for, let's see, 6+ years now. I suppose my picky attitude towards what I choose to read in recent years is to blame.

im quite religious in the way i cataloged every manga i had ever read in MU with ratings (except fapping materials). a lot of them even have reviews though im not very articulate.

i have about 1190 completed manga, but only 804 if i exclude one shots.i have 1125 manga in my reading list, only because i put every manga i want to read in there. only about a 100 or so that i actively read.

my dream is to read 50 top completed manga in MU in every genre because i really want to try to see other's point of view and their taste. its very very hard to force myself reading some of the stuff in top 50 though they seems to be popular, so slow progress. i know this is kinda pointless lol.

Hmm... I just noticed that ~80% of the titles I have in my lists are of the ero genre.

Well, they're often just the size of 1 tank which you read in one go or so. Many series take years to complete. Hentai is often a commissioned tank of raws and is therefore translated fast.
