Almost positive this goes in adult 'cause it's yaoi. I've searched through various yaoi rec threads and used the search button on the forum and can't find anything, and this is something I can't find out from the descriptions, so here goes:

Anyone know of any shounen ai (preferred)/yaoi/doujin title where the couple alternates positions? I know it breaks the most basic convention of the genre and all, but that would seem to be all the more reason for somebody to write it. I've seen it all of twice, both times as off hand comments at the end of the story. I'm not looking for a character who shifts roles (seen that a handful of times), but a manga/manwah/oel/etc. where the couples positions are reversible.

Try Seiryou's Scariest Tales. The "seme" actually starts out as an uke, allegedly to seduce the uke into having sex with him, but they switch later, when the uke becomes committed to the relationship and realizes how much the seme loves him. (Enough to literally put his ass on the line...) A bit crazy, I know, but delightfully unusual! I liked the fact that the seme didn't think his behind was somehow more precious than his lover's... How do semes get away with that selfish attitude, anyway? Even in manga...

I wouldn't recommend the above series otherwise, because it's basically about the smut and doesn't feature any particularly interesting story-lines, but it fulfills your criterion of "the switch."

I'm pretty sure that the couple in Koi ga Bokura wo Yurusu Hani do in fact switch roles. It takes them a while, but they do start doing it at some point in their relationship... This series is awesome, by the way, because it's the only one I could find that had a gay couple grappling with remotely realistic problems. They often get melodramatic, but hey, I did say "remotely"...

Renai Junkie has another switching couple, apparently, although I've heard that from a friend and haven't read the manga personally.
