Hey guys, so there are many things today that are based on ancient inventions. Now, if you know any ancient invention in warfare that you think is the best or you like the best, list them below!(Preferably have a link to the article, website, or video). This is just for entertainment and cultural education. Also, list the country that invented them. And also limit the weapon to the ancient world....not like....the A-Bomb...or super laser

I'll start: The two ancient inventions I like in warfare are something from China, the Continuous Flame thrower, and the first water skimming multistage rocket

Cool topic! Too bad I don't know anything about it. -_-

Didn't the ancient Greeks have reflective dishes they used to blind incoming warships, or something...

I think this is about Archimedes' mirror(s)? Legend goes like this: Archimedes sets enemy Roman ships on fire by reflecting the sun's rays on the ships to set them on fire. But here's the catch: Was it done by focusing many beams of sunlight or by using one large convex/hexegonal piece? Time magazine supports the former.

moving away from the posts above...
i really like arrows and bows..
i mean...i used to dream of becoming and archer back when i was a kid...and it really looks cool when ancient people aim pointy stuff at each other...and since im a surprise lover... i love those moments when i watch historical movies and the warriors are using the arrow rain attack...their opponents are all like WTF?? ahahahahaha..the looks on their faces...they didnt know what hit them because their dead!! 🤣

uhmmm...about the country that invented it...i think that its way back in the more ancient civilizations...

the chinese are really ahead in technology in the ancient world but the one i'm really impressed with are the trebuchets. simple and destructive physics. XD and imagine if the rocks they hurl have explosive charges > 🙂

The good old-fashioned catapult! Nothing like chucking things past someone's fortress walls... Plus it must feel pretty good to send some huge flaming rock going "WHOOOOOOSH" as the catapult launches... And the terrified expressions on the enemies' faces as they realize what's coming towards them... 😃

The Macquahuitl of the Aztecs was pretty wicked. It's the bastard child of a sword and a club, made by embedding obsidian into a club shaped like a wooden sword. Accounts state that it could decapitate a horse with a single blow, thanks to the weight of the wood combined with the incredible sharpness of obsidian.

They would even hurl cow carcasses...sort of biological warfare I guess.

And I'd go with poleaxe, nothing better for breaching that nasty plate armor, and of course the (English) longbow.

(sadly most of my facts are based on Medieval Total War series)
