No school for me, I've done my time~
My kids go back Aug. 29, and I think the local universities start around Aug. 23. Your school really does start early.

My school starts on the 22nd... Which is good, since I still have all four summer assignments to do. ><;;;;;;;;;;; I officially hate 1776.

Same here Aug 22nd is when classes start for me, although the first day is usually just introductions to the course and the class syllabus.

I'm kinda excited for this year, it's my senior year at the University. I can't believe my time flew by so fast. 😀

Quote from kiddo
heh, yes, unless you live in a nice little town where everyone likes each other, youre most likely gonna get stinkbombs near your locker/in your hall, roadkill in the bathroom, pudding thrown at you, etc. although i dont care, at my school, it seems to be a tradition for the football jocks and preps to hate freshmen. unless you have strong connections, that is.
Oh, so froshing happens. When I joined my high school there was an announcement warning that any eggs in their lunches stay in there and that there be "no initiation". I think my school use to be a bad one too but I guess I didn't really have any problems and I probably got bullied more in junior high. There was froshing covered in the news when I was going to high school and I think several guys dragged another guy to another place and beat on him with a hockey stick and he wore no protection. (They couldn't have been such @$$holes that they'd go for his crotch though, now that I've sort of mentioned it, could they? 😲 ). Some girls interviewed we're saying that the guys method was too drastic and something like that water balloons and egging were okay but what they did was not. Really, I don't think getting any of that stuff thrown at a person is appreciated.
And really, in "nice little towns", I doubt everybody likes each other. I'd think more that everyone new each other's business that that the one or person that doesn't belong or is approved of is shunned. It might be more that there is 1 victim instead of several people being picked on constantly.
