I voted for the last option. The only times I wish I could be in Japan is when I hear about all the anime merch they have, and I wish I could pick some up for myself. 😛 I don't have any fantasies about Japan as some sort of hallowed country; it's the same as any other. I have Japanese friends who have told me I should go sometime, but that's because it's their home, and of course they think it's the best place on earth. I will probably visit there someday when I decide to go on a grand tour of the world, but being a fan has little to do with it, and won't affect it much except that I might arrange a visit to Akihabara while I'm there.
