It doesn't really matter to me. I'm thinking about all that religious explanations of human origin as beautiful metaphors . Acceptation of our true origin - and by that I mean evolution- doesn't forbid people from believing, that we're God's creation anyway. Someone just had to create the Universe(?).

I would like to emphasize ( i hope i wrote that almost right ) that this question isn't about what really was, but if you care about it and think it influences your current life.

Only sometimes, when there's an opportunity to do something good. At such a moment I start wondering, if someone really created me with a purpose, and if yes, what am I supposed to do? But I can't really say it has a big influence on my decisions. It's only slowing me down when I'm making them.

P.S. And yeah, correction, evolution theory doesn't state that we evolved from apes. But that we and apes share a common ancestor.

True, but it's a bit more complicated. Only chimpanzees and humans share a common ancestor.
No lecture today, I'm tired, sad, and probably noone's interested anyway.

I would say that it matters in the sense that I'm interested in it, but like what most had said, it doesn't affect my daily life in any way (except maybe my grade in one class about this...) I could care less about the primeval soup, apes, and whatnot.

There's also this theory which states that we were created by god and because she/he is such a great god, she/he made evolution possible. So believing in one thing doesn't neccessarily mean you can't believe the other.

I definitely think it matters. If there is a God who was capable of creating the entire universe and mankind I would definitely wonder what this supreme entity does with his creation. If in fact this God created the world and man as the Bible says then this God definitely has a big impact on my life because he is constantly interacting with me.

Since it helps show the fallacies of religious beliefs, I'm quite interested in the subject.

Doesn't matter to me, but im sure that if the existance of God and therefore of Heaven and Hell was proven to be true a lot of people would change and try to be nice, and that makes me mad. I believe you should be true to yourself. If you're and ass then be an ass. Who the hell does God think he is 😛 He was high for the past 2 millenia he could at least get rid of all the pollution, global warming and ozone layers for us. After all aren't we his beloved children? Lazy bum, look at Satan he works all the time...

Weeeellllll..technically a fish came out of water became a reptile then evolved in to a mammal (monkeys included). soooooo....looks like everything is connected at some point.

basically, one of the fishies was different than the other fishies, and so its offspring would inherit gene that made it different, and then there'd be another freak, and then the nxt generation another freak etc. it carries on until the descendant finds that it can crawl/breathe on land, then same thing happens and then come other animals.....etc

i dont rly care that much, its nice to know that we have a past, but only up to the point that us humans appeared.

Its better to look at the present and future but to also appreciate our past. 🙂

Or you can also watch this cool clip by fatboy slim!

But let me warn you real evolution theory is nothing like that. A fish don't suddenly morph into a reptile... Could try to explain it but that won't be on topic. And by the way, let's stay on topic after this k?
