I've fantasized about it, yes. I'd still love to. I have story ideas go through my head constantly. but yeah, I can't draw, it's not going to happen.

Breaking into the manga industry is near impossible for a foreigner. As far as I know, Frédéric Boilet is one of the few successful comic creators working in Japan at the moment, and his stuff is geared towards a niche audience.
I do plan and am in the process of creating a comic though. Just, not a manga. One day, I'd like to collaborate on a project with someone in Japan, and release it over there though.

I read an article about a manga assistant name Jamie Lano in the Anime News Network last month and she manage to make it to the industry despite being an American.

Oh that's right, I remember hearing about that. Personally, I wouldn't be into working in a manga studio like that, I like to do everything on my own. Though if I were to move to Japan (and I would like to someday) and get offered a job in a studio, I'd certainly take it! You need contacts and a way to get your name out there...
Not really; I'm not much of a drawer.
I've fantasized a lot more about making films ^^
That really has nothing to do with manga though.
EDIT: Or does it? o_o

I have stories that I've developed for years, now all I need is an artist or for my art skills to some serious development.

I have a similar situation. I've got two copies (200 pages each) already full and a third copy on the way, where I've written down my stories, scripting them for a long time...
But I doubt I'll ever find a good artist to help me out... so, I'm working on my own skills... 🙂
But... 😐
It won't be easy to do all that given my routine...
But again... 🙂
I'm not giving up either...

I know how it is. I have a trilogy carefully planned out, but I can't draw to save my life. I'm actually thinking about making the first two parts into western anime once I finish college and get my degree. Hopefully I can get an animation company that will have it looking as good as Avatar or The Boondocks.

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.
I'm confident with my artistic skills ~ not so much with the storyline... I can think of plots, but the storyboard bit is tough. >:-(
The fact that I have little patience might be a hinderance, as well... 😐
But I can still dream... 🤣
