I'm looking for an anime/manga where the MC (has to be male) it abandoned/ignored/hated by the carer/parent/s/whole family (preferably the mother) the story line must cover this at one point or more, not just mention it once then brush over it. He has to me to meet the one/people that abandoned him later on in the story or the beginning, I don't mind. This has to be central to the MC's character, so he can often be cold/angry to the one/s that abandoned him. As a result of him being abandoned the MC changes physically or emotionally, this would be nice. I don't particularly mind how the story turns put as long as it shows the MC's feelings towards the one/s that abandoned him, they could make up or get worse, I leave it to your recommendations.

I don't think its what you are looking for but this is one of the main plotlines of
Hunter x Hunter -the MC is abandoned by his father because his father wanted to be a hunter instead of taking care of him, the story starts out with the MC going to become a hunter to find his father. But a LOT of stuff happens before he actually finds his father.
