I've played mind games, its fun but I always tell the person something like "hey I'm just playing with you" right after or else I feel bad

Being aware of mind games and not being influenced by them is a good practice. People that are manipulated are as much at fault as those who manipulate others, IMO.
Well put 😃

Mind games are a good way to get rid of me. 🤣 I hate them, I refuse to participate in them, and I refuse to associate (any more than absolutely necessary) with people who play them. I'm an honest & straightforward person & I prefer to spend time with others who are the same.
To me "mind games" are different than friendly teasing or messing around, which I have no problem with. "Hey I'm just playing with you" after being (mentally) led in one direction and then jerked around in another direction, just confirms that the person I'm dealing with is an ass. 🙄

You know Mind Games can help someone right? I can't think of any of specific instance, but if your being manipulated by someone else, I can use mind games to help you realize what the other person is doing...
But some people wouldn't call that a mind game right?

I could just let them be confused, but I end it before it goes too far, stuff like this can ruin friendships if its left alone

Agreed. It's up to you to evaluate the trust you put in a person, as well as trying to understand what they are saying as well as the motives behind it. I'm not going to say I am the best at reading people intentions, but taking the time to analyze what people tell you is definitely good practice.
Also, I manipulate people sometimes for various reasons. It sounds bad but let me give you an example:
My GF wanted to buy the Sony E-reader 2weeks before her B-day. I had already gotten it a month ahead of time because it was on special and knew she would want it for said B-day. So we were in the store and I had to tactfully manipulate her into not buying it in order to preserve the birthday surprise. I convinced her that the technology was still infant and if she bought it now, she would have to replace it before the year was up. Also it was quite expensive. Also....when does she have time to read? With school and fiull time job, etc.
I felt bad for the manipulation.....but when her b-day came she was happy.
Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

i think "mind games" as messing with another human being´s mind is unethical, and i agree that it is not the same as teasing a friend, in my case, i would never tease somebody i know if that person can´t tell that i´m only teasing them, so i hate when people i ´m not close to tries to tease me, so i just give them the could shoulder (not very sociable, am i? 😀 ). So i hate manipulative people, mainly because they think they are better than everybody else, when they are exactly the opposite.

It really depends. They can be used for a few friendly laughs, but never to manipulate people. But I think that vince was right when he did that. You can use them for good, in everyone's best interest only. But otherwise, no.

yeah, i agree in vince´s case, but as he said, he felt bad for the manipulation. I don´t really think that "the end justifies the means" is correctly ethical. To play with another person´s mind to be justified becouse the end is good is something you should seriously think before doing. There should be some other more correct ways to achieve the good result.
