Have you heard of something called a bayonet?

Yeah, but bayonets are attached to the sword for stabbing purposes. Using a bayonet and firing a sword out of a gun is very different.

Oh and of course the shotgun is gonna win as long as the wielder isn't slow and completely unskilled, unless the guy has a sword that can extend over 100ft like GIn from Bleach. Also as long as the guy has a decently made shotgun he can block any attack from just about any sword.

Win what? A style contest? As much as I like blades, I'd rather hold a shotgun armed with 12 guage buckshot than look pretty.

In the real world, guns win.
In the fantasy world, swords win.
Why? Final Fantasy.... all the soldiers have guns and massive fire weapon, while the main character usually has a sword and rapes the living out of all the soldiers with guns.
