i love the following manga, and would love to read anything similar. whats most important is that the main character not be a weakling, whiny, or stupid. i love kick ass main characters you know? i like the characters to be likable but flawed (i actually ended up liking mikael from Ares)

Of course, I'm going for my all time favorite: Pandora Hearts. The main character, Oz can be really weird at times, but I don't see him as weak or whatever. Anyway, I really loved this series because I can't really choose which is the best character and because the art goes beautifully with the storyline. There's lots of action, but it's mostly mystery... Eh, the good kind. It really keeps you guessing.

Tower of God K, it's a webtoon and more people need to read this!

Unlike most shounen, there's absolutely no dragging and the characters are somewhat complex too. Even if there may be children/teens, they're not as simplistic/2-dimensional as most of their compatriots in shounen. You're not going to find any Naruto clones in here.

There're a ton of layers to almost every character. The main character starts out a bit weak but he's evolving very quickly. Furthermore, he's very calm and not prone to meltdowns. He's a bit naiive though but he's maturing quickly too. 🙂 He also has a strong initiative to learn.

Also, the fights don't take 100 strips to finish and the entire environment is really interesting. 🙂 The tests are all super duper interesting and very creative. Plus, as they climb up the different levels, different weapons will probably be needed.

It's also set in the background of an empire: a real empire and not the simplified types you find in most stories. Well, an empire that rules a tower(of which 100++ floors have only been conquered so far). And everyone is trying to climb the levels to reach the top floor.

Also, both the males and females are equally strong in this comic. 🙂

Ahhh, I wish other teams would work on the other comics that take place in the universe of Tower of God. Oh well...
