Ichigo lacks character, while Naruto (before time skip) had more personality. I never really felt Ichigo was the main character of Bleach. This is my opinion.

of course if u look at it currently, their both sell outs and lame ass dbz 30 episode power ups (yes the manga is just as bad now)

both of them are fake .....
you want pure badass? mugen in samurai champloo , afro in afro samurai (for this latter the fact that the seyuu is samuel jackson is a good hint of this : jackson is the typical badass character .In Star Wars He even made engrave on his lightsaber " BMF "badass mother fucker"). Those two are VERY easily pissed off, thrill in fight , don't talk much but talk big.
there are a lot of really chool character out there that aren't exactly badass : alucard , spike , etc... I love them but they're different and yet they're closer to the badass model than Ichigo and Naruto .
So don't give this nonsense about Naruto and Ichigo .
Ichigo and Naruto are way too nice , talk too much to be called badass.They don't even know how to kill for God's sake! (in Bleach it's more likely for a character to die out of starvation than in a fight anyway) 😁

I don't really like the shows or manga anymore. But if we're basing it solely off the characters, my vote would be Ichigo. Naruto is a little pansy.
They both don't have an ounce of a brain though.
