This is why I love the Japanese—or at least their media, since I'm not in a position to travel. They are polite and take their duties as citizens, members of families, and workers seriously, and they adhere to their moral code while NOT going off on endless new moral crusades that keep other societies churned up.

And meanwhile they tolerate a bit of transgressive material in their media as a safety valve for all that obedience in real life.

It's because of these virtues that I read manga, Japanese literature, and Japanese history, and watch anime.
