i had to check on wiki what it is and found out that you mean "Mikado"s XD, so I knew them, but I've only seen & tried some with chocolate so far, so i can't tell what the others taste like.
They're not bad but i prefer other sweets =P

still pocky or other names. i know they name different in some countries like they use rocky name in thailand or glocky in other places. 😀

Oh, Invalent, now I know what is this about... I know them as Mikado to... lol
But I only tried the choclate one and didn't really like it that much. It's ok, but I'd rather buy something else to.
Maybe the quality of the ones sold in Europe doesn't compare to the original japanese?

I looove chocolate pocky but they only sell the strawberry kind in my town, which is also pretty good.

I was first introduced to Pocky buy the Manga 'Gravitation'. Heh. I have loved it ever since, choosing strawberry over Chocolate.

I feel kinda bad for all you guys who can't get Pocky. I just picked up some Hazelnut Pocky yesterday at the grocery store. They have it at every grocery store I've been to in the US, and not just here in NY but I could get it in Colorado, too.

The Hazelnut Pocky is great with my hazelnut coffee as a stir stick. /me is totally a coffee addict - willing to spend $4.13 on a cup at Starbucks even after having had a pot at home.

And by the way - it only costs ~$2 for a box here in NY. 😛

i know for one thing i see it featured a lot in different mangas. ^-^ The first time i saw it i thought it was really funky looking, then later when my friend took me shopping in a Chinese Market, i bought some and shared it with her. I like it, especially since it has chocolate, lol. however the ones i bought were all sticky and broke easily, that it was pretty hard to eat them without getting chocolate all over myself.

i think it's very popular with manga artists, as a lot of their characters are sometimes featured with a box of pocky, or eating pocky, or pocky sticking out of their mouth, etc. even the name sounds cute! Pocky.

now if only those manga pets, like the little furry ball things were real. So Kawaii!!! ><

Almond pocky for me, and hold the coffee.
While it would be good as a fancy stir stick, I just munch it with a glass of milk like a regular cookie. But its long and bumpy and fun to munch on, so its better than a cookie.
Where I am the prices range anywhere from $5.00 a box, down to $0.69 in some of the hole in the wall asian food market places I have discovered. I laugh at the fools who buy the $5.00 boxes at our student union...
