Are you afraid of dogs?

Sort of. When I see a dog, the first thing that comes to mind is,
"Aww, you're so cute, but, please, don't run towards me, don't chase me, don't bite me."
Dogs in my neighborhood are never friendly. Never. (They're trained to take down burglars and etc.)
They're always so vicious! So, once I get to a better town, I'm sure my sort-of fear of dogs may go down. Maybe!
But for now, I'm on my toes watching out for those vicious dogs.

Yes, I am.
I got attacked by a** stray dog **when I was 8, so that traumatized me and pretty much petrified of dogs now. Loved them before, though. I can't even come over to my best friend's house anymore because they adopted a dog. 😐

I don't like dogs, period. Then again, I don't like getting myself close to animals, except for cats sometimes.

I've never been afraid of dogs.
When I was younger, our neighbor had a very vicious dog always tied to a chain ready to attack. One of the kids that lived there thought it would be funny if he let the chain go on purpose so it would chase and attack me 😳 (It really was only able to bite my hands to death before someone came 😐 ). It wasn't a pleasant expirence... and I was only around 4 at the time so I would think I would be mentally scarred or something, but I still love dogs. Vicious or not. 😃
Do you still have your hand? Usually the dog tears the hand to pieces.
Here's a video to help people understand dog mentality better so they don't get bitten.
It has something to do with respecting the dog's boundary. Which I find quite ironic. Obviously the dog should be showing respect to the master. It's not a partnership with dogs. Dogs have hierarchies, and most good trainers establish that. Also, anyplace that human lives, is actually the human territory, and not dog territory or space. 🙄 The very definition of a pet is synonymous with slaves, so pets are our slaves. If we want them to be our friends, we wouldn't be putting them in a cage and taking off their tail and dog sausage away. It's probably because they aren't intelligent enough to comprehend this concept.
Anyway, I like dogs, but the constant drooling and licking and humping and growling/biting makes them...not so desirable for me.

I'm wary of big dogs.
When I was four, this HUGE dog was chasing me around my yard. I was bawling my eyes out before someone finally rescued me. It pretty much traumatized me until I was nine or ten.
I still prefer small dogs though. 😐

Nah, I'm not afraid of dogs.Maybe its just me, but I can generally tell if a dog is going to try to attack me or not. And I own the most adorable golden retriever ever! They're so friendly! 🤣
But I have met an 'unfriendly' dog to say the least. It never really traumatized me or anything though. I mean, not everyone is a murderer, not every dog is planning on ripping your head off.

im not afraid of dogs, i just hate them.
funny thing is that no matter how pissed a dog it, its no where near as scary as a cat the same size is.
i hate small dogs because they never shut up, are high maintenance (need to take the thing outside for it to take a crap) and will destroy almost everything they can get there teath on. not only that but that god damn smell that all dogs have regardless of size. not to mention that almost all dogs are so dumb too.
i like medium dogs the most, but its still a hate. by medium, i mean their head, on all fours, is about ass level with an average person. that is how big a dog should be, if you want small ones, get a god damn cat. but these dogs are high maintenance too.
and i hate big dogs, not as much as small ones, but less than medium ones. mainly because they are that big. ever have a dog that is nearing your own body weight try and jump you? and im talking well over 100lbs here, pushing 150. not very fun.
and did i mention the smell?
and just because i said cats are scarier, i should mention that i have pictures of me holding a small lion, sitting next to a big lion, and in front of a black panther. the panther was caged, as he wasn't very nice, but i was within clawing distance if it chose to do that.
and i should also mention that about the only dog related things i don't hate, are wolves, but its hard, and very rare to see those tamed to any reasonable degree.

Nope. Dogs should fear me as a matter of fact. I have no problems biting back or even eating them if I was forced to.

I used to be terrified of dogs when I was younger. I think it had to do with a dog biting me as a child so I was traumatized and I would run whenever I saw a dog. Now I can walk the streets without paying attention to any strays or dogs barking at me. 🙂
Of course I'd be scared if I'm not familiar with it...same goes for people.
But I'm also a dog lover...owned 5 Rottweilers and a Boxer. Also go to a friends house who's backyard has 8 Labradors and 8 Rottweilers.

I'm generally not afraid of dogs, though I do have a healthy respect for them if they aren't friendly.
My grandmother had a doberman that had initially been abused. The dog loved her and protected her like you wouldn't believe (which is why we got her) - mostly from men and anyone she didn't know. The first time I met her, she was really mean, but after I lived with my grandmother for a few weeks, she got to know me and then she protected me too. She absolutely despised men, though. Only a couple of my uncles and my father ever dominated her enough that she let them become part of her circle. (She scared my other uncles to pieces and ripped at least 2 pairs of jeans with her teeth while 'protecting' us.)
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.
From a bumper sticker I like:
"If you're gonna ride my ass, at least pull my hair."

I'm afraid of dogs because in my hometown where I grew up, there are a lot of stray dogs on the road. I learned to ride my bicycle then and rode down all the roads with my cousins. We went pass this one street and there were about 3 dogs chasing us (they were pretty small), they got the slowest rider of all of them which was my cousin's friend who was only 7 at the time.
I can still remember that day when the dog yanked his leg and he lost control of his bike and went into a house (these were wooden houses I grew up in a rural area, the houses were mostly elevated on stilts so he technically rode underneath a house if you know what I mean). If it wasn't for the people living in that house I wasn't sure how badly wounded that guy would have been. We were all there at the doctors when he was having his Rabies shots because you never know with these stray dogs. He had deep bite marks on his ankles and arms, that was the last time I rode a bike.
Do not feed the trolls

Yes. Everything is still attached. I had some really nasty scars on my hands and down my arm, but you can barely tell where they were now. 😐 My dad was able to get the dog off me thankfully. (Not even a week later the people next door magically moved to Chicago... ) I don't think it was a big dog, though I remember it being big, that's just a child's viewpoint. It definitely wasn't big like a German Shepard. 😮

Well-behaved dogs, no. I love them!
Out-of-control dogs, yes. 😐
