I did when I was younger, but not now. No reason to, I suppose. Plus, when people get caught in the middle of a lie, everyone calls them out on it and holds them to it forever.

I don't really lie. I'm incredibly obvious if I do. I don't want to spend all my time playing pretend, since it makes it difficult to have a real discussion and conversation.

Only lied when I was eight or something like that, playing MMORPGs. When I started telling my real age, and people would be telling me I sounded older because of my grammar, and etc.

Yeah... that's my excuse. Luckily, I don't lie anymore.

The internet is a lie.
Besides that, I don't lie one the internet because it serves me no purpose.

I lie quite a bit because meh... not 'cos I want to but quite often, there are so many thoughts going on in my head, that few understand. 🙂

Lying on the internet only serves me the purpose of building a fictional me that somehow boost my self-esteem. I did it once and it actually helped me to start losing weight, I created this fictional world where I was actually slim and I eventually realised how much I wanted to be like that. This motivated me to lose weight, and now I don't have to lie about my weight. I can tell you right now that its still a working progress but I wouldn't pretend I'm not overweight.

**[sarcasm]**I'm also successful, good-looking, hung like a horse and speak 5 different languages! [/sarcasm] lol

Sure I lie all the time. I'm actually a really hot lesbian, gan had it right all along.

😐

I actually hardly ever lie, or on here at least. I lie more in real life, people on the internet have probably seen more of the real me than the people I speak to every day. I don't have to worry so much about your judgments. (Meaning, I don't really care if you like the real me or not.) 🤣

Not really, I don't really see any reason to lie on the internet. I don't give out any of my personal information, like full name, address or telephone number. I don't see any thing wrong saying I'm a 22 year old female college student that cooks and likes manga. ^_^

yep. i lie on the internet. i tell people im a pedobear ;o

no but really those delectible lolis, i could lock every loli i saw into my garage =P...

in all seriousness though, i dont see the point in lying on the internet, however it doesnt make a difference to me whether someone does lie to me or not, simply cause of the fact..... i'll probly never EVER meet the person considering i live in Australia...... and comeon... lets face it, its.... difficult... to find people from australia, from an area i live around that would be willing to acctually meet me, and in all reality, i probably wouldnt be too interested in meeting someone irl off the internet.....

but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Uh....I used to have to lie about my age a lot, to access some sites. I can't think of any sites that required me to be older than thirteen, though, so it's been awhile since it was necessary. Is it lying if you're lying to a computer program?

I've never really had a reason to lie. There are lots of things that I won't share about myself when I'm on the net, but that's not lying. That's keeping things private.

Between the ages of 10-16 I generally lied about my age on the internet so that I could access things like hotmail and than eventually to get into adult sites. Now I don't need to lie about my age so I don't bother and I'm generally more honest about what I think when I'm on the net although I try to keep personal things private. I do lie about my real name and location when I'm applying for an e-mail account. E.g. My name's Jane Doe (obviously not true) or Jane Anonymous.

It's a given that people lie on the internet. I assume that everything I am told on the internet is a lie...
