If you read a lot of manga, I'm sure you've come across many scenes where blocks of English or Latin text have been cut and pasted into the background, or are maybe part of a character's t-shirt design. But don't you just love it when it's legible and totally random in relation to the scene?
Example: Cholesterol and saturated fats, what?
Makes you wonder whose idea it was, and where they got the text. 😛

Actually, that sounds more like a social protest well hidden, if you read it, it says something about japanese fillings having way too much trans fat and that's horrible for the health... I find this awesome. Best modern protest I've seen.

"Are you sure some scanlator didn't photoshop them in...." - they seem a little out of place....

I suppose it could be photoshopped, but I can't imagine why anyone would bother to do that on a couple of random pages. Or, who am I to question an artist's er...artistic choices...?
And these pages are just a few lines of text each; I know I've seen some that are like a big block of text just stuck in there like a texture. Wish I could remember from what series. ^^;

I've seen that too, in several different series (can't remember which). The first couple times I tried to read it & make sense out of it, & then gave up. 🤣 I suppose they use it because they like the "look" of it & don't care what it says.

Its the same thing when western people get those shirts with kanji written on it even when they don't know the meaning. It just looks cool.

Starter of Controversy.
japanese people are suckers for anything western (including random german or english writings), so thats why they do it...
just like some westerners get stupid writings in chinese, japanese or cambodian....
