I think it's very...odd to pledge to want to marry a character, since marriage should be...a shared relationship, and a 2D character will never love you back 0_0
you would be better off finding the creator and marrying them instead

haha that'd be funny to marry the creator because you fell in love with their creation. But yeah, marrying a 2D character is creepy. It's good to like a character a lot, but as soon as you fall in love and want to marry it, then you've crossed the line of an otaku

I'm rather obsessed with Shana and Miyako, but I much prefer my GF to them. Good think she likes them too.

I wonder if this could be applied more broadly. It would be interesting to see someone marry a character from a movie or television show. Just as a contemporary example, marrying Pam from "The Office".

Manga/Anime is just a hobby...Why get obsessed over a character you can never touch?

its nothing wrong being obsessed, adore or worship your fav manga/anime char, as long you can realize there is no way you can marry or even interact with him/her.

I admit I prefer to gawk at 2d char rather than real person.

It all depends on a person's definition of "a little too much."
Well, I voted "you went a little too far." 🤣

Lol the link made me laugh. I couldn't really see myself wanting to go as far as to marry any of my fav bishies... Considering their all pretty much sadists =/ I guess fangirlism hits the limit at marriage. Fantasies ftw?

Being a fan is not being obsessive...

Wanting to marry anime is a "little" off...

Aye.. What could one possibly gain from marrying something that doesn't exist..? How could it possibly work out?

Maybe it's for people like the main character in Chaos:Head. (Haven't seen more than the first 3 episodes of the anime, but that guy seems a bit too obsessed with that character. Even hallucinating that she's standing next to him talking to him..)

I think most of you are thinking about the question "a little too much" o_o
It doesn't even ask about marrying a 2D character - just about obsession and "love" :\

I think I understand now why Japan is the furthest in robotics... It's all those obsessive fans trying to recreate their fav characters in robot form 😐

P.S. That was crack. And (hopefully) not true 😔

Sure sometimes I wish this stuff was real, my life can be quite boring. With that fact I still know whats real and what isn't though. I love only whats can love me back.

Picked the second one. Wanting to marry things like 2d girls is a bout as feasible as marrying your cat. Sure you may love the thing but it really isn't right when you try to make love to it. 😁

being a fan is fine.....
its when people are saying he/ she is mine, or when they fantasize and want to marry them, it gets a little sad 😔
