I bet if people were under the impression that these American comics were created in Japan that some of the people who say American comics are boring would probably love them.

Not all American comics have the superhero and supervillain junk. Johnny the Homicidal Maniac is a good example of this. It's hilarious too.Who knew murder could be that hilarious?JtHM was created by the same person who created Invader Zim. I know it's not Marvel or DC but I am just backing up my claim.

while this is a thread about marvel comics, so true. Huge JTHM fan, of that whole universe, even most of the stuff Slave labor graphics puts out. american comics are starting to evolve from the standard xmen flair, but we've still got a way to go.

I dunno why but marvel comics have never interested me. But that doesn't mean there aren't many great American comics. Just as there are European and Asian too.

I jused to be a hardcore Conan fan 😀 😎

They're not "only starting" to envolve. Alternative comics goes several years back to Will Eisner and his works (such as A Contract With God).
American and European comics are just as varied as any other form and have been for ages, its just a lot of people are too ignorant to look past the mainstream superhero-orientated fare.

BTW, I'm siding with Vincesuma; Groo is infinitely the best Marvel charcacter!

(also, I just noticed that this thread was bumped from a year ago, hmmm)

The Punisher. He's exactly how all heroes should be: He quickly kills people that commit horrible crimes and do horrible things that make lots of lives suffer. There's no thinking about it, or any "Oh well, if he spends time in jail, then he might see the error of his ways!" He sees the problem, solves it, and looks for more of them to solve. My favorite version of him is the Garth Ennis one from the MAX comics.
