The will of god

You know what i'm begining to find funny is how some ethiests are begining to treat athiesm as a religion. Athiesm is just not beliving and it doesn't matter which way you do it.
Criticaly saying that athiests oparate a certain way becomes funny because you then treat it like a religion. (what do you mean? 😲 )
Athiesm is supposed to be someone who does not have any religous belief's but could still believe that smurfs exist in his shoe. My point is that people should not say what other athiests are like or should be like. It is not a cult.
🤣

I believe in letting people do as they wish, as do I myself. Sometimes, of course, what I wish to do is kill them and they do not wish to die. This gives life interest.

Oh ok didn't really know about atheism being so new and didn't even consider indoctrination. Just that I have seen that kind of situation so many times( since i work at hospital) so I made that statement. Aha what point does your life have? I could say many things but they would seem pretty BS to you like our life in this world is like a trial that we have to go through in order to reach "heaven". If we are good people, if we can care for others and live respectably then we pass this trial that God has set for us and we can reach heaven where there is no suffering and everyone is equal. Or it could be enlightenment, or if we have enough good karma in this life we will again be reincarnated into man..spiritual stuff you know. I actually don't really believe that much in that kind of stuff but hey you asked for reasons so well.....i can only give you spiritual reasons. Also what about the poor people, abused people basically people suffering out there? The idea of a heaven gives these kinds of people hope. They live out their lives suffering so much in the hope that after their death they will find happiness, that they will be rewarded for suffering, and that is where the concept of heaven comes in. Because not everyone will be satisfied with the lives they have had. I am certainly satisfied, you may be satisfied but not necessarily everyone will be satisfied with the kind of life that they have had and death will be a pathway for these people into happiness. Its like a concept that allows these people to keep on living you know. Not everyone can embrace death as easily as you can, I applaud you for being so strong but some people aren't that strong. You are right about it though a finite existence have much more meaning than an infinite existence but given the choice i don't think everyone would choose a finite existence. The idea of immortality and being able to exist forever appeals to a lot of people at first.
don't get me wrong, I'm not saying no one can believe in god, I just don't like organised religion.
Ideally, I'd like people to think for themselves and form their own ideas of why we exist and what might come after death. But I fear that would be impossible for most people. So that's where religion comes in.
Quote from Schopenhauer
Religion is the metaphysics of the people which we must certainly let them have and, therefore, must externally respect; for to discredit it is equivalent to taking it away from them. Just as there is a popular poetry and in proverbs a popular wisdom, so also must there be a popular metaphysics. Fof people positively need an interpretation of life, which must be appropriate to their powers of comprehension. It is, therefore, always an allegorical way of expressing the truth; and in practical affairs and as regards, that is, as a guide to conduct and as a comfort and consolation in suffering and death it probably achieves just as much as truth itself if we were to possess it.
I personally believe though, that people suffering don't need a god for comfort. By that train of thought, people will see it as a test and bear their suffering. While they should not be comforted but driven to end their suffering by their own hands and achieve happiiness, or as good a happiness as a human can get.
And back to the eternal life part.
There was a time I believed in god and eternal life after death and reincarnation as well. But then at some point I started to question it all. I came to the conclusion god did not exist so then I started to wonder about what came after life. I obviously thought nothing came after death, and it scared the hell out of me I tell ya. But a few years ago I started thinking about the other alternatives.
Eternal life in heaven didn't appeal to me. I really like being alive you know, but I can hardly remember things I did ten years ago. Now imagine if you existed for an eternity, you wouldn't be able to remember jack shit of your life. Add to that you exist in the same place with the same people for the rest of eternity, no thanks.
Reincarnation didn't seem all that much better. You are born again after death, forget about the fact that you can turn into a bug, you lose all memories of your previous life. To me, my memories and experiences make me who I am today. Losing that is pretty much the same as non-existence.
But we digress, I believe the topic was supposed to discuss the will of god, and I made it go in a different direction, sorry.

You have point. But there are certain atheist religions, like Buddhism for example.
Do but despise reason and science,
The highest of all human gifts -
Then you have surrendered to the Devil
And must surely perish. - J.W. von Goethe
